We could equal our highest - yes, "highest", temperature of the month on saturday... LMAO Saturday has now been downgraded to a high of just 18°C FFS, this Poorgust really is a hilarious joke right now.

Warm, then . The Pobblebonks, or Banjo Frogs, have started calling, or as I like to call them "September Frogs", signalling the start of spring. Today is infact Thursday the 19th, the low was infact 0,9C and the high 23.2C

Alice Springs and a typically wildly fluctuating late winter early spring weather pattern. My son has to fly down on Monday for a week's work......he's allready complaining of the cold and is not even there yet.....haha born and bred Darwinite, not ever seen a frost lol !

Looking like shitty cooler weather for mid-late next week here. .SYNOPSIS... High pressure will build over the area this weekend. An upper trough diving into the area should bring another round of unsettled weather for the mid-late week.
.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 PM THIS EVENING/... As of 8:00 AM Sat...No changes made to forecast since the 12Z model suite. High pressure now in control today should keep skies mostly sunny today; that, and low-level thickness values should support highs in the upper 80s.
.SHORT TERM /6 PM THIS EVENING THROUGH 6 AM SUNDAY/.. As of 8:00 AM Sat...High pressure will shift a bit eastwards with heights rising a bit overnight, allowing for clear skies and calm winds. Expect overnight lows in the upper 60s for the region.
.LONG TERM /SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/...
As of 9:00 AM Sat...Upper level and low-level thickness heights should continue to rise a little through Sunday, with high pressure remaining in control. Expect a nice dry Sunday, with mostly sunny skies, and highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s for low elevations for the region.
Upper heights start to fall Sunday night and Monday morning in response to a trough diving south from Scandinavia. At the surface, this will push a slow-moving cold front southwards Tuesday morning or afternoon.
Tuesday and Wednesday...Great disagreement in the 12Z and 00Z model suites between GFS and ECMWF, with GFS keeping the area mostly dry, whereas ECMWF shows widespread shower/T-storm activity and good instability (MUCAPE values 1000-2000 J/kg range) just north of stalled frontal boundary, so given the uncertainty will keep PoP’s in forecast in the 40-50% range—for now. Highs in the upper 70s to mid 80s for the area—depending on cloud cover, and lows in the mid 60s.
Thursday through Friday...Upper trough should merge with a substantial upper cutoff low developing over the Baltic Sea Thursday, and continue to influence the area, even if heights will likely rise somewhat. Moisture would be more limited, but isolated/scattered diurnally driven storms would remain possible into the weekend. Highs generally below normal, in the upper 70s to lower 80s, and lows in the mid-60s for the period.

Temps around 100F forecast with a strong high pressure ridge in place. We haven't hit 100F since Sept 2019. Warmest it's been so far this year is 98F.
