Cool, cloudy, and potentially raining for a decent portion of the week. Summer's definitely over but the past two months were epic enough that it doesn't bother me at all.  |

A first taste of fall this weekend, remember anemometer of my PWS is placed at 6 ft AGL.      
.SYNOPSIS...
Troughing to the north will drag down a slow-moving cold front, and then continue to influence the area into next week, bringing unsettled weather to the area.
.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 PM TONIGHT/...
As of 9:00 AM Wed...As a slow-moving cold front continues to sag southwards today, drier air will move in today, so unlike yesterday, the support is not there for a coverage of numerous showers and thunderstorms today. However, some instability in the range of 1,000 J/kg is expected this afternoon, and PW's rising to the 1.4" range again should allow for scattered, diurnally-driven showers and thunderstorms. Highs to the lower-mid 80s today.
.SHORT TERM /6 PM THIS EVENING THROUGH 6 AM THURSDAY/..
As of 9:00 AM Wed...Any afternoon convection should end with loss of heating after sunset, with dry conditions expected during the night, with some indications of low-mid cloud cover persisting into the night. Lows tonight mainly in the mid-60s.
.LONG TERM /THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY/...
As of 9:00 AM Wed...Unsettled weather is on tap with an upper-level low deepening over central Europe Thursday, and continue to influence the area into next week.
Thursday...Not excluding isolated shower development based on weather model output, though drier air will limit convective potential. Will keep slight PoP's Thursday, with areas inland seeing a diurnal increase in convective activity—as typical with summertime showers/thunderstorms. Highs in the lower to mid 80s for the region.
Friday through Saturday...A weak surface low should develop off the Ligurian coast Thursday night-Friday morning, tracking southeastwards and elevate precipitation chances. Will advertise 30-50% PoP's with best chances during the afternoon hours, though cloud cover, precipitation and LLT values should limit highs to upper 70s-lower 80s, with lows in the lower 60s.
Sunday through Tuesday...More uncertainty with respect to precipitation, but temps should remain a few degrees below climo, in the upper 70s to lower 80s. Generally 20-40% PP's, and again mainly during peak heating. Some indications that African high pressure will try and build over the Mediterranean early next week, as hinted by ECMWF 12Z and 00Z runs.
