Utsjoki Kevo, the 2nd northernmost FMI station in Finland recorded the hottest temp in the country for the 3rd consecutive day yesterday. High was 30.1C.
Blighters.

Very weird weather during the second half of July. Very rainy but at the same time pretty warm. Last week has had 23-26'C temps every day with rain every other day and lots of 17'C-ish lows.

It says ICON model is being used so I would think the latter, but I didn't know models could show maps of the weather in the past.

Indeed Beercules . Such a stupid article. Hail โ snow. NWS records "trace of snow" all the time in non-freezing weather that's actually hail or graupel and polar foamers completely eat the shit up and spread it like wildfire to promote their agenda. Similar thing happened here in April, recorded "trace of snow" on a nice 80ยบF/60ยบF ish day. Milwaukee got 0.4" of snow on June 7, 2005. The high and low that day: 86/69 Look on NOWData if you don't believe me. The way they record it is misleading at best; should be labeled "solid precipitation" if they're going to count like that. I think they should change how they record precipitation and have three categories: rain, hail, and snow. All three should also be combined into one liquid equivalent category. That would be much more clear, IMO.

Zoom Earth is a helluva lot more credible than Microsoft Weather showing random patches of 85-90 F dew points in parts of the US South, West Africa, and the pre-monsoon season Indian subcontinent- when other websites and Windy don't...

The sea off of the coast of Umeรฅ has been 23-24'C during the day for over a week now while southern Sweden has had a hard time even reaching 20'C. What makes this so strange is the sea temps are higher than the coastal high temps almost every day, and the sea temps have stayed high through multiple thunderstorms.

Tafjord in Norway (and I'm sure many other stations there) might see May be the warmest month this year. Unheard of. Just May being warmer than June has only happened a couple times in Swedish history.

Latvia, and especially the Gulf of Riga is bracing for the storm of the century. I haven't seen anything like this in the Baltic Sea area in a very long time. I mean look at these precipitation numbers! And wind! Up to 90 km/h gusts forecasted by FMI.

Babu I know it's not the same, but in 2018 the warmest temperature of the year was in May here. Even more weirdly, May was warmer than June in 1977 and 1982. Meanwhile, this July so far has been the coolest since 2017, and the first one since 2017 not to contain a single 90 F (32 C) or warmer high temperature. Thankfully we had a few days in the lower 90s in June.

Finally some interesting weather here. 92/74 (33/23 c) yesterday, by far the hottest temp this summer. Amazingly, it was the first day to exceed 87 this year. And today had a nice thunderstorm earlier with some heavy rain and lots of thunder.

24h rainfall totals by 12 UTC (i.e. 12-12 UTC).
117 mm in Riga city. Even higher totals were reported from Kalnciema (SW of Riga) with 193 mm.
Five years ago, when Helsinki was hit by heavy rain and the metro was closed, the rainfall was half that of Riga.
