Fall colors around town lately. Lots of beautiful elms planted by the CSU campus, this street is one of the most beautiful streets in Fort Collins in fall. These were from October 21-23rd: Trees peaked earlier in rural areas. Still some nice colors along the Poudre river on October 26th > < Rainbow on October 29th > < Sunset over the park on November 1st. Foliage is past peak but still handing on > <

October-November is Jacaranda season down south in AU. We don't grow 'em here in the Deep North ( too hot for them to produce flowers, they need a bit of chill ). Our flowering tree in Oct-Nov is the Poincianna. Sydney: Grafton, NSW: Dookie Ag College campus: Darwin:

Today's weather summary: Heavy snowfall continued throughout the afternoon, resulting in an accumulation of 18cm(7") in just a few hours. We're incredibly lucky to experience this event, especially in November. βΌ Click to see more photos/videos

Update: Snow depth is now 6.7cm (2.6"). Everything has melted except for a bit of slush left at the corner of the street. The grass and roof are still covered in white, though.

I took some photos today. The temperature was around 0c, overcast, grey and calm around 11 -12 am. It snowed a little in the morning and a trace of snow here and there on the ground. In the evening the sky became clearer. Swans had gathered on the lake, as they often do this time of year before migration southwards, but when I took the camera, they were already at the other end of the lake.
