Here's Auckland sunshine 2005-2015:
2005: 2254 2006: 2189 2007: 2080 2008: 2108 2009: 2176 2010: 2088 2011: 2009 2012: 2026 2013: 2199 2014: 2204 2015: 2151 Average: 2134 hrs I think it has got sunnier in recent years, at least from the 1981-2010 average. In this case, other city sites will be averaging around 2250hrs

So I took my thermometer and put it in and outside of the sun. Without sun it showed 24.3'C, with sun 25.2'C. Very minor difference.

Btw, I totally believe Selsey could get over 1950h of sunshine. Geographically it should definitely get more sunshine than Portsmouth and Shanklin. Niton might be sunnier, but apart from that place, Selsey should definitely without a doubt be the sunniest in England.

Annual avg sunshine in Mildura is 3139 hours, so should be very similar here. Unfortunately in recent times, the BOM sunshine obs in Mildura have been sporadic with many days missing.

Not bad for somewhere with the title "cloudiest city" (although that should really go to Hobart)

Karlskrona since opening compared with Visby, the sunniest station in Sweden. 2010: Karlskrona: 1949, Visby: 1926 2011: Karlskrona: 2095, Visby: 2312 2012: Karlskrona: 2099, Visby: 2033 2013: Karlskrona: 2254, Visby: 2242 2014: Karlskrona: 2130, Visby: 2131 2015: Karlskrona: 2142, Visby: 2240 2016: Karlskrona: 2270, Visby: 2191
For some reason SMHI still haven't added yearly data for 2017 even though all the months' data is there. Can't be bothered to add them together myself.

Sydney Airport since 2000, taken by multiplying the daily average (they give it to one decimal) with the number of days in the year. The cloudiest year was 2011 (averaged 6.6h), and the sunniest 2013 (7.8h). We've been on a bit of a sunny streak, wouldn't mind some cloudier years.
2000: 2598.6 2001: 2597.6 2002: 2737.5 2003: 2579.3 2004: 2790.8 2005: 2813.5 2006: 2625.0 2007: 2710.1 2008: 2595.6 2009: 2676.7 2010: 2518.5 2011: 2396.8 2012: 2674.9 2013: 2831.8 2014: 2625.0 2015: 2570.2 2016: 2772.5 2017: 2694.9

Nice 2009: 2916 hrs 2010: 2634 hrs 2011: 2908 hrs 2012: 2934 hrs 2013: 2738 hrs 2014: 2703 hrs 2015: 2924 hrs 2016: 2915 hrs 2017: 3073 hrs

This list of sunniest places in the world is wrong, but several places have the same list. [ source] First, Antarctica is the sunniest place in the world for several months. If Alert and Eureka are included, why not Vostok? It claims 709 hours in December which is close to 24 hours a day.
Going through these by month. I am not including Alert, Eureka or Vostok in this list.
January: Upington is hot and dry in summer, but it's only at 28S. Surely somewhere further south will win. Perth averages 357 hours. One of the wiki boxes for Santiago says 363 hours, but the others say less. I think somewhere in Australia with a dry summer is the winner here. Possibly Perth. I found a forum post saying Dampier Salt is the sunniest place in Australia, but like most of northern WA, it is wet in summer.
February: Songkhla is at 7N and the data on wikipedia has it averaging 184 hours. Who made this list? Perth is the highest I found, but somewhere should be higher.
March: US sunshine hours are exaggerated, but I didn't find anywhere close to Yuma outside the US. Does anywhere in Australia or Patagonia have a dry, sunny March?
April through September, the sunniest places I found area Yuma, Redding, and Sacramento. Sacramento beats Redding in May and September, but Yuma beats both in the spring months. I don't see anywhere in Asia that gets over 400 hours a month. Sacramento averages 98% sunshine in July, which is too high. October: Khalkhgol is dry and sunny, but at 47N it can't be the sunniest place. The source for the weather data is the NOAA, but they have something wrong with their data (station 44313). Calama, Chile and Dampier Salt, Australia both average 11.5 hours a day, 357 a month.
November: Calama
December: I don't see anything sunnier than Upington.
My new list:
Edit: Perth actually gets 311 hours in February, there are 28.25 days not 28.0

Maybe they just deliberately leave out ice cap climates. That would be my guess.

Annual sunshine in London for the past decade. 9 out of 10 years below average, and the one year above average only slightly above. 2008: 1409.9 hrs 2009: 1508.5 hrs 2010: 1370.5 hrs 2011: 1540.1 hrs 2012: 1502.6 hrs 2013: 1452.4 hrs 2014: 1668.4 hrs 2015: 1507.7 hrs 2016: 1473.7 hrs 2017: 1415.0 hrs (as of 11 Dec) 2017: 1452.0 hrs 2018: 1704.8 hrs 2019: 1546.1 hrs 2020: 221.2 (to 25 March) Hopefully 2020 will see something above average. This month should finish on 150 hours, and the first week of April looks to have average sunshine, based on the forecast. Will the cloudy blip of 2006-2017 finally be consigned to history?
