Of course, I kind of said that in jest. Would be interesting to see if there's some sort of correlation between warm months one year followed by cool months the next year though. kinda suspected, wanted to add for those any that did believe if it was true. Might true in some placesโฆ Like El Niรฑo is often followed by La Niรฑa and back again

March 2014, 2015, 2017 were all cold as shit. March 2013 here was just average. While March 2016 was record warm. So out of the past 6 Marches, 5 have been either record cold or record warm. Mother Nature has gone full March 2013 was more cold for the Midwest and South....I remember North FL getting a very late freeze towards the end of March. April 2013 was also record breaking cold across a lot of the Midwest. I think that's just the nature of winter/spring months, very swingy lol. April is another of those months that often is either really below average or record warm. Spring 2013 was the 6th coolest spring on record here. It got down to 25F on March 26! I also got down to 38F on May 4, which was the coolest temp on record for May.

Nice! 30s in May is quite impressive for you......it dropped to the low 40s in late March here and we had a few morning with lows around 60 F in early May here as well. I believe May 2013 was one of the coolest Mays on record here. What's strange is April 2013 was really warm though. It was almost like April and May switched spots that year.

Both 14, and 15 were fairly average aprils. We may have had a strong cold snap in a couple but overall april has been remarkably average. Last year was record warm however... april for some odd reason deviates the least above average of all months relative to below average deviations. yet will deviate below average really hard... if april deviated as above average as other months that deviate as below average as it do we would have aprils with average highs in the 80s instead of the 77 last year... pathetic bs

We've had -8'C marches just the last decade, yet we're hard pressed to even get above 0'C when the average is -3'C. And in spring, whenever we're above average, most likely the highs won't be much above average.

Doesn't look like we'll be going below 0C in the foreseeable future. Lowest temp so far this season in Vancouver (YVR) is a pathetic -6C(21F).

We will return to the same west ridge/east trough pattern soon. I know it's of consequence to you, but damn I kinda like this pattern lol. 10-day forecasts showing an extended period of cooler than normal weather after January 13th (this Saturday). We need to get a pattern like the winter of 1978-1979 where it was cold coast to coast....that'd be great for everybody. Also if I'm not mistaken, winter 2008-2009 saw that pattern as well?

Central Park chilling (pun intended) at -16.6F departure for the month. Bunghole is at -17.2F
Bunghamton has a 12.6F average high so far this month. That's about -11C. Colder than an average January in Kazan, Murmansk, or Vladivostok. A bit warmer than Novosibirsk and Harbin tho. Congratulations Bunghamton, you're warmer than Siberia

Our first week finished at 17.2/2.1, which is 15.7 F below average.
The mean of 9.8 (-12.3 C) was the coldest first week of January ever!
