That's pretty fucking cool! Reminds me of when I went to Massachusetts/New Hampshire in late December 2009 and we were staying in Worcester at a motel by the ocean, and everything was frozen solid and there was a shit ton of snow on the ground right to the beach....wicked cool. I actually have some pics from that. are you sure you were staying in Worcester by the ocean? Worcester is 45 miles inland from the water… lol. Would be cool to see your photos of wherever that might be[/quote] Lol oops, I meant Gloucester haha my bad.

Interesting thing about March 2012 is that the very next March (2013) was record breaking cold in many areas....nature balancing itself out?

We had some nice backloaded winters in 2013 and 2014. 2015 and 2016 are a blur to me. March 2017 was great with the late season snowstorm. With that in mind, March 2012 was still rediculously warm and had more extreme anomalies than these two week cold spell.

Some parts of eastern nc have never been this cold this long so in some asepcts this cold is unprecedented... at least thats what the folks out there are saying.
Might get a couple 60f lows next week. Highs look weak as shit though... we average some 70 and 60 degree days in jan and this upcoming warm up is on some pussy shit... to balance out the cold anomalies we would need an entire week of highs in the 70s... happened before (2005 comes to mind) but it seems certain we will finish well below average. Bastardi is also freaking out lol, he tweeted he wonders why he ever liked the cold. He cant even take it anymore... isnt stopping him from forecasting an "American pie" february with harsher cold... that man is on some next level shit.

Saranac Lake dropped down to -29 F/-34 C this morning but it's already above 0 F. End of the week has a forecast high of 46 F/8 C. That's a 75 degree swing! Thursday night could also remain above freezing (forecast low of 36 F/2 C). Edit: Forgot to mention that the lowest windchill recorded was -41 F/-41 C yesterday morning.

March 2013 here was more like an average January, and January that year was more like an average March. We had one wicked cold snap that dropped us to near 40 F almost at the end of March in 2013! Almost went into April with lower 40s temperatures.

53F right now and there was a bit of light rain. Forecast high of 59F today. We still haven't reached 60F since December 23! There could be a decent rain tonight, maybe with thunder. Flash flood watch even issued for southeast Louisiana. Over 3 inches forecast for New Orleans. About an inch here.

Would be interesting to check. Of course, I kind of said that in jest. Would be interesting to see if there's some sort of correlation between warm months one year followed by cool months the next year though.

April 2013 was also record breaking cold across a lot of the Midwest. I think that's just the nature of winter/spring months, very swingy lol. April is another of those months that often is either really below average or record warm.
