Time for a new seasonal thread. We've got an unusually sharp cold front coming our way later in the week, that 14C if it comes off is very close to our record high for December, then after the winds turn Arctic that -5C would be our coldest temperature for nearly five years! Surprised there is no snow in that forecast, if it's a pure northerly then the Scottish mountains will take most of the snow showers and we get clear skies, but NW'lies are usually a much better option.

Bloody cold tonight, -3.8°C already now at 6:40 pm. That's easily the coldest it's been at this time of the day so far this winter! Lucky I got my bike ride in order well around the time of the sunset

Can't have two up at once that'd be confusing!

Got up to 79F (26.1C) here today... Hopefully that's the warmest it gets this month.
Cold front coming tomorrow morning, which will bring a pretty good t-storm chance. Maybe an organized line of storms will come through, but not expecting anything severe.
Some decently cool air after the frontal passage. Wunderground is calling a high of 49F (9.4C) Wednesday and 50's for the remainder of the week for highs.

Today had a high of 51 (11 C). After tomorrow, we’re supposed to have an extended cold snap with highs in the 30s (low 0s C) and lows in the 20s (-0s C). Hopefully we get a decent amount of snow although there isn’t much forecast.

Hope for a frontloaded winter with a quick spring warmup. Can't remember the last time both March and April were above average here. More often than not both have been below average, and the past two Mays were crappy too

The last time both March and April were above average was 2010! It's even more surprising considering that the rest of the year has been slowly getting warmer. Seems like August-October is eternally above average here these days. For some reason the spring period has stayed the same or even maybe gotten a bit cooler this decade

Quite a heavy frost yesterday but nothing in the sort of snow yet, besides some short flurries. Seems like a proper backloaded winter on the cards.

First freeze since Nov 7th in Vancouver today.
December outlook looks pretty mundane; the entire west coast will sit under a ridge for the next 2 weeks. It's been over a decade since we last saw a cold and snowy January, perhaps this is the year?
