Epic cold snap for the west? And epic (disgusting) ridge for the east?

No sign of mild coming to the UK. Just freezing sub zero douch baggery and maybe even a screaming Beasterly going into March. A dreaded March 2013 repeat maybe. Hell. I will be flying off to somewhere warm for a week or so it that happens.

Spring 2013 was horrible; after a cold winter, March was the coldest on record (something Tom always ignores). It stayed below average until July, when the average high was 27c. Sounds like 2015 here. After a bone-chilling January and February we were then rewarded with a record cold March too. It stayed below average until May, then we had a shit June, but July onwards was a torch

2-15cm of snow fell across Metro Vancouver last night. Temps are forecast to hit 6C this afternoon, so it should be gone by this evening.
Models are still showing Arctic air hitting us on Sunday and persisting for a couple days.

Halfway through the month now and it's been the coldest month of the winter so far, avg high 3.2C and avg low -0.5C, so 1.6C below normal.

Similar story here but the averages are 3.5ยฐC / -1.1ยฐC and it is the coldest month since December 2010. I am not enjoying it.

4.3/-0.9C in Paris-Orly this month so far, with 9 days with snowfall. Beautiful weather today, not a single cloud from dawn till dusk Youโre back in Marburg right? If so weโve practically had the same weather. Blue dome skies with a few cm of snow on the ground. Dews are quite low, close to -10C where I am in southern NRW.

00z GFS looks even stronger with the arctic blast early next week for the NW. Shows 2-8cm of snow accompanying the arctic front on Sunday. Temperatures plunge thereafter; 850mb temps over Vancouver peak at -16C on Monday morning. Easily looks like the coldest upper level temps over the NW since at least Jan 2012, if not earlier. Of course, Botev will most likely continue to downplay the event on CD.
