we had 3-4 inches of snow last night but with sun and 40ยฐF + a lot compacted and melted. Doesn't really look like it had snowed as it was enough the streets looked clean ( well big slush puddles in spots) and the trees were snow-free by the end of the day. Sounded like it rained. Went below by 8 pm, with patches of black ice on sidewalks. Snow still on the ground here, the 40F high we were supposed to get today never came to fruition. Annoying

Annoying oh it didn't all melt, but it's like one inch of slush now, and nothing on the roads. Looks like a lot of fog forecast for me mixed in with warmth. Phone has 72ยฐF Wednesday; NWS goes more conservative as always 68ยฐF.

also the Midwest will sit on the edge on the ridge boundary, will get a lot of rain in the process. We aren't forecast to get more than an inch, expected more when the warmth leaves. Biggest rains might be to the north of me? Wonder what it'll do to the mountain snowpack

The snow Saturday night was short lived. No official reports yet, but I think we got at least 3-4 inches. Much of it melted yesterday as the temperature rose up to 42 F/6 C under full sunshine. Warm, but active pattern this week. Rainfall amounts don't look too impressive here despite the multiple chances. Might have to break out the shorts for 70 F/21 C weather Wednesday. rpvan must be happy with the forecast in Vancouver. Subfreezing lows also expected in Seattle, Portland, and Eureka.

NWS still forecasting 67 for Rochester and 69 for me tomorrow. Theyโre now saying afternoon sun, so thereโs a chance we overshoot with the sun. Wednesday forecast keeps rising, now up to 64.

80 F (27 C) with a 69 F (21 C) dew point at the moment, just had a passing rain shower come over and it's quite breezy outside (20 mph winds out of the E).
I don't think we've had a high below 80 F since the very beginning of February....

Hopefully there'll be a few more cool shots before summer sets in down there.

It's odd how the weather pattern literally flipped down here as soon as February started, it's almost like the weather was looking at the calendar or something lol It's honestly looking less and less likely. Once a weather pattern like this gets locked in, it's hard to come out of it. We can certainly get decent shots of cool air in March down here, so we'll see what happens.

Yeah, I am pretty happy. As I mentioned before, it's a nice change from the past few months. However, it hasn't been as cold as models showed a couple days ago...Vancouver only dipped to -6.5C last night. Would be rare if a temp as high as that ends up being the coldest of the winter. Snowstorm expected in Portland tomorrow. Over 6 inches possible. Looks like this could be the second year in a row where they beat Vancouver in terms of biggest one day snowfall.

This is the most insane chart I've ever seen, the 850hpa temps are now down to -18 or so over SE England London to get highs of -10ยฐC perhaps?

It got up to 81F (27.2C) this afternoon - the first day in the 80's this year. Record max for today's date is 82F.
Tomorrow NWS is calling for 83F...

-10 was an exaggeration but an ice day is a distinct possibility if that chart verifies. But it likely won't.

Bay Area got showers and hail. Doesn't seem like the hills will get snow though right now temperatures are in the mid 40s, once winds stop some places will get a frost or freeze. San Francisco itself should miss it 850 hPa temperatures at the California - Mexico border are below freezing; colder than at the Vermont-Canada border. Cold enough for snow at higher elevations but the setup wasn't great Surface low over the Colorado Rockies, surface high east of the Cascades in Washington / British Columbia. of course high up, it's a big trough out west . via tropicaltidbits.com

Mt. Washington at noontime. Moisture had just arrived to the midlevels and it fogged over. warmed up to freezing with a brisk wind from the Mount Washington Observatory website

looks like Texas and Arkansas will get a drought buster. Almost fortunate they're in a drought; otherwise there'd be flooding. drought a couple weeks ago

Itโs 55 (12 C) @12 AM.
The record warm low for February is just 50 (10 C) in 1981. Itโs warmed since the afternoon and tomorrow is supposed to be very warm and itโs barely supposed to cool down tomorrow night.
So at least if we donโt hit 70 (21 C), we have a decent shot at the all time February warm low.
0.40โ (10 mm) fell Monday, but it was mostly in the evening so it didnโt really matter.
