last night on Mt. Washington, reached its high temperature 9 pm yesterday earlier on Monday at noon just as the ridge was coming in and the summit fogged over: and this morning. Summit is a pleasant 44ยฐF with a brisk 68 mph wind more impressive than the summit temperature IMO is that station at 1600 feet. 68ยฐF! In February at 8:20 am! Warm morning for any time of year. Combination of lack of fog and downslope winds [ one of the few places in the east with a big foehn effect is possible? ] Deeper valley stations weren't as warm due to a morning valley inversion. But that's a huge gap between the 1600 foot station and the 2300 foot station. Way the topography was oriented? Topo map and stations no stations regionally were anywhere near as warm, if it's real it's a tiny microclimate bubble

Yesterday when the fog broke. Around noon fog broke at a warmer temperature and earlier around 9 am today. Warm air mixed in faster? we're all under the same ridge and upper air temperatures, so this shows locally what parts of southern New England heat up the fastest. Looks like some of New Hampshire, too. But it's off the map Morning fog map; coastal and Connecticut River valley stations got the thickest

That's ungodly warm for this time of year. Bring back February 2015 lol jk. Though it'd be nice down here. It got to 39 F (4 C) on yesterday's date in 2015.

This is just one year after it had a +7.5F anomaly Recent Februaries have gone cray cray Weโre only at +4.2 so far. 26th warmest February and 17th warmest by average high. The last week is supposed to be all 40s and 50s with lows in the 30s, so we should break top 10 warmest.

February is averaging 79/70 at FLL this year, when the averages are usually 77/59, so a mean of 74.5 F versus the average of 68 F. 6.5 F above average. HWO is averaging 82/69 when the average is probably something like 77/57, so 8.5 F above average. It's been a warm one....
Strong contrast from February 2010 that averaged 71/54.

Dansville was the hottest place in New York yesterday at 76 (24 C).
Highest so far today is Syracuse at 75 (24 C). That smashes their February record high of 71 (22 C) set last year.
Edit: White Plains, Poughkeepsie and NYC just tied them at 75.

Have had flurries all day here. Hasn't stuck to paved surfaces, but most areas have received a tr-3cm on the grass. The clouds/snow has kept temps down; Vancouver has seen a high of -1.3C so far. Looking good for our first subfreezing high of the year and our first since last Feb.

Washington reached 48ยฐF (9ยฐC) a record for any winter [Dec-Feb] month Newark, NJ also reached a record high in any winter month (Dec-Feb) of 80F today. Notably, Philadelphia did NOT exceed the February record high. That was set in February 1930 - 79F. Today, PHL "only" hit 77F. In fact, I'm only seeing 80s in North Jersey. Actually slightly warmer there, overall, than in South Jersey today. www.nj.com/weather/index.ssf/2018/02/nj_weather_record_heat_record_temperatures_for_feb.html

Freakishly warm day with a high of 76 F/24 C. That's a new record for the month of February and for meteorological winter. We had reached 75 F/24 C in December 1998 and February 2017. Vile weather. Wrong on so many levels. Thankfully temperatures will crash down closer to average by tomorrow. Might even get a little snow mixed with rain.

Looking good for our first subfreezing high of the year and our first since last Feb. yeah it started around 9am and hasn't let up. Around noon it was snowing quite heavily but it's a steady light snow now. I went for a walk and saw a Norwegian guy I know. He looked much more at home in today's weather.

At 78 degrees (26C), today is officially the shittiest, most putrid, AIDS-infested rancid of a shit-show of a joke of a winter day in the NYC area, since record-keeping began in 1869 at KNYC.
The rest of the week also looks like raw asshole, but luckily still below 15C (thank goodness).
Fuck today.

There were tornado warned storms to my west and north today. No warnings in Alexandria, but rainfall was quite heavy. I saw an inch fall while on my lunch break in maybe close to 15 minutes.
I measured 1.77" of rain in my gauge for today. The airport recorded 2.31", most of which fell in an hour. A few totals of 5+ inches to the northwest.
Rainfall continuing to train in northwest Louisiana with flash flood warnings. Front is nearly stationary.
