max temperatures today most of these are unofficial stations though the NWS uses for additional data. But there's enough of them agreeing that 77°F (25°C) along the valley ( right by I-91 ) seems accurate. Skeptical of the hotter readings, though looks possible right around Greenfield was a bit hot. In the hills on the roadsides, snowpiles remain and the ground quite cold; created interminnet cold breezes that make the temperature feel 20°F colder. That strange big jump in temperature on the slopes of Mt. Washington continued past morning to around noontime Today minimum temperatures. See the 55°F by Burlington, Vermont? That was around midnight, by sunrise it was 60°F; must be the warmest February morning there on record. The lake is partly frozen, so it can't be making Burlington milder. Downslope winds from the Adirondacks? No, doubt they're big enough plus the wind was from the south. Here's Burlington the last two days. Steady warm-up overnight with a south wind. Consistent wind, and unlike here, no cold air pooled at the valley bottom creating fog that the ridge had to dislodge. ==================================== Warmest min ever recorded in February. A lot of New England broke this record, might depend on how the 24 hour cycle is defined

At 78 degrees (26C), today is officially the shittiest, most putrid, AIDS-infested rancid of a shit-show of a joke of a winter day in the NYC area, since record-keeping began in 1869 at KNYC. The rest of the week also looks like raw asshole, but luckily still below 15C (thank goodness). Fuck today. And here is the record report from NWS NY. (sorry I double-posted before) Kind of reminiscent of 1985, with January featuring the coldest day in decades, then February breaking the heat record. forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=NWS&issuedby=OKX&product=PNS&format=CI&version=1&glossary=1&highlight=off

Last February we had a day of low 70s and it was followed by a severe thunderstorm band. Why is the end of this ridge much tamer?

Altho yeah, 70F is a bit extreme, even Jacarandopolis doesnt get 70F often in the winter It's more fun when that sort of temperature is a novelty

Have had flurries all day here. Hasn't stuck to paved surfaces, but most areas have received a tr-3cm on the grass. The clouds/snow has kept temps down; Vancouver has seen a high of -1.3C so far. Looking good for our first subfreezing high of the year and our first since last Feb. yeah it started around 9am and hasn't let up. Around noon it was snowing quite heavily but it's a steady light snow now. I went for a walk and saw a Norwegian guy I know. He looked much more at home in today's weather. Did you see how much tsawwassen picked up? A rare case of NE outflow meeting NW flow producing straight effect snow and a stalled convergence zone. Saw a report of 17cm.

It used to be only 34 F (1 C), but I wanted to add some variability and the possibility of mild weather.

Winter weather advisories from nearly the Mexican border all the way up to the Canadian border! Not too often you see such a wide swath of winter weather advisories.

Wow, I had no idea the New York area could hit 80+°F in February. That kind of variability would be super annoying.

Yesterday was Vancouver's coldest February day since 2011. High of -1.1C(30F) at the airport. Tomorrow, 5-8" or 12-20cm of snow is forecast for my locale... It's been a near perfect week though. Today was sunny, yesterday snowy, day before sunny, etc.

Today was sunny, yesterday snowy, day before sunny, etc. Yep. Snowfall warning has been issued. 10cm for Vancouver thru tomorrow night. That normally means 20cm for locales such as North Van or Coquitlam.

Strange how we're getting this weather at the end of February which is usually a very shitty time of year here.
