Higround or "Högmark" as it's called in the native Swedish language of the place, is an 800 m asl location at 39°N near an arid area and behind the mountains on a lake shore nearby a large sea. Its avg mean high of a year is 37.4°C (99.3°F) and its mean low is -15.9°C (3.4°F). The highest recorded diurnal is a 27°C/-5°C event sometime in April. To create circumstances for this climate would be a little bit difficult but with the right topography around it, high winter sun with the ocean nearby and temperature inversion it's not impossible. Summer rainfall is heavy and frequently accompanied by thunderstorms as the cooler mountain air meets the warm desert air to the east. So, only four-five rain days each summer month but those t-storms are heavy in rainfall. For me, it's a solid A: allergy-friendly, warm summers, comfy summer nights, mild winter days and frosty mornings to offer some variation What do you think about it?

D+ Low temps too cold, summer highs still somewhat inadequate and with the cold lows is really not good enough, but gains points for the sunshine and thunderstorms.

It's a pretty peculiar one, but would you agree that for being such maritime, it's quite an interesting climate for a weather enthusiast at least? It's on the shore of a lake so those overnight thunderstorms in summer bring pretty spectacular light shows!

D+; horrendous winter diurnals, and too arid; however, summers are decent, especially with the storms.

Hell, even I might be okay with it if the summer temps were a 4-5C warmer, just for the variety and likelyhood of severe weather.

Bonuses - dry, sunny, thunderstorms in summer, OK summer average highs Negatives - lows too cold in winter and summer. Summer overall not warm or humid enough.
D+
Not a bad grade from me.

How much snow does it get?
If it gets a decent amount, it’s a B-, otherwise a C.

The only factor that can get an A rating is the monthly average mean temperature. Diurnal ranges too large, outside of June to October the precipitation is a bit too dry, and too sunny.

It's too dry, sunny, too warm in winter, spring and autumn and too cool in summer. The thunderstorms are a positive but not really enough. I'll be a nice and award it a C-.

There's a sizeable paradox in having high diurnals and snowfall, so I was even kind letting it be that much I feel given the intense sunshine and high-pressure winter nights required to turn such mild days into cold nights

Nice sunhsine and very nice looking summers. However it could definetly do with some more rain, especially in the winters which also happen to be a bit too cold.

D for being too cold capable. What if I back in the day had made the record lows more like -15 which I probably would today for realism? Would that have salvaged a C?
