nei you've made a mistake: I wrote -2 for summer, not the other way round

Almost have an aw climate, never really thought about that. The winters are that warm but wet..hmmm, strange to realise that

This sounds like a great idea! Let's see... for me I would say: winter -1 summer +1 Generally speaking I don't like extremes, but I don't like a flat climate all year round neither. I don't like long winters, but the coldest month should be cold enough to feel like winter and have some chances of snow. I don't like extremes during the summer neither, but at least the warmest month should be warm enough for enjoying a good gelato in the evening. My current climate is actually very similar, I'm really lucky in this regard winter: -1 summer: 0

Oh ok, well that definitely changes things maximum threshold Winters: +2 [(14+6)/2] | wet Summers: 0 [(30+16)/2] | dry minimum threshold Winters: -5 [(-1-7)/2] Summers: -5 [(24+12)/2] whoops shoulda been more clear. Should I pick your maximum threshold, minimum threshold or just average in between?

Should I pick your maximum threshold, minimum threshold or just average in between? you can take the maximum, since your scores are based on a range, but something I think could be interesting is if everyone would state a maximum and a minimum, since people prefer a range of temps that doesn't go on to infinity, and then each person would be represented by a line on the graph connecting their maximum and minimum points, this will show which people are more picky and if people's preferences overlap anywhere.

I like the idea but I wish there was a way to account for diurnal range. For Rochester: Winter: -5 Summer: -1 I feel like this scale works much better for winter and for low-diurnal range climates. Then days that almost everyone would consider hot get skewed down to average by cool nights. Guess there’s not really a better way though. I think daily mean still give a sense of "average warmth" for high-diurnal range climates, but I agree the scale works best for low-diurnal range climates. I was thinking maybe I could add bars for each dot [like error bars] to show each person's ideal. Chart would get too messy. I was hoping to have plot people's current climate on the same chart, too; but I think it would need to be on a separate chart.

I'm surprised there's a trend of people prefering colder winters also prefering cooler summers

I'm surprised there's a trend of people prefering colder winters also prefering cooler summers I'm not, really. My dream climate used to be very continental, 80F+ maxes in the summer and mins approaching 0F in the winter. With every successive iteration it has become milder and less continental.

I am summer -4, winter -1 near cadeau! My climate's temps roughly correspond to Limoges temp-wise... but with more sun... I have considerably more oceanic preferences than most of the forum members on here....
I could tolerate milder winters though... I'd still rate places like Porto pretty decently (B+), or chillier winters like in germany (as in Cologne) [not harsh polish or deep continental winters though] but dislike hot summers more strongly.... but will tolerate cxas if the rest of the year is good....

Bugger me, this is one old thread! Summer; (31.9° + 12.7°) / 2 = 22.3° C; thereby, summer = 0 Winter; (3.9° + –4.7°) / 2 = –0.4° C; thereby, winter = –3

I'm going to make a new updated chart tonight or tomorrow. A couple of new posters haven't responded yet; Speagles84 omegaraptor. And I want to see Beercules finally post his numbers. Not just to have a point for everyone but I'm honestly just curious what his ideal is

Based on the first page, Most continental (closest to +10 summer -10 winter) = alex992 Hottest (closest to +10/+10) noodle Coldest (closest to -10/-10) shalop Most consistent (closest to -10 summer +10 winter) is Baba There have been some +10/+10 posters on C-D, I think, but I can't name any. That means summer is above 32C and winter above 24. 32C mean is really hot, even tropical lovers don't like 32C means. And some -10/-10, summer below 13C and winter below -14. Kaul comes to mind. Probably TenderFrost too if they ever made a climate.
Has Beercules ever made a climate? He rates threads all the time but I can't remember seeing a climate.
