Pretty normal month, slightly milder and drier than normal. Unfortunately a few pieces of data were missing. Well done to The Raz

January 2018. Post all your January 2018 summary here. It was an average month for temperature but wet and dull. Amazing how much of a difference that 300m in elevation makes. I'm not that far away and the month here was completely different

We had a lot of showers in Buxton from the Irish sea during the cold polar maritime periods. Hawarden would be sheltered by the welsh hills so it doesn't get any of that.

around 2C above normal. also more precipitation than normal. Btw, on wikipedia's 02-15 weatherbox for Gothenburg the January mean is only -1.3'C which seems way too low, and on infoclimat it's +0.1'C which makes more sense. Do you know what's up with that? You seem to refer to Gothenburg's mean as 0'C even though you're a cold lover and prefer to use older periods.
lol. i, if anyone, have ranted about sweden's outdated normals and how useless and misleading they are. 1981-2010 is what's relevant. to pretend that gothenburg's january average still is -1C is delusional. this is what i use as reference for normal.

I noticed a lot of Swedish users prefer those 15 year normals, and I suspect it's because they are much warmer than the standard 30 year figures that all other climates use

That's what I'm saying. The wikibox claims to be Gothenburg 2002-2015 but looks more like Landvetter. No way Gothenburg has -1'C means for 02-15. Wonder if Lommaren made it or if it's someone else.

It's some IP clown who's ruined my weatherbox as usual I can't even begin to describe how I despise those anonymous internet trolls ruining Swedish weatherboxes in big cities

I'm still looking at the Paris obs on the previous page, that avg low of 6.2C in JANUARY is just insane. Here in Renmark the airport recorded an avg low of 1.1C with a max low of -4.2C in June 2017, the LOWEST temp in Paris this Jan was HIGHER than the AVERAGE Jun low here.
Insanity.
