January 2018. Post all your January 2018 summary here. It was an average month for temperature but wet and dull. Daily data: (key to columns, PP = precipitation, Sl/sn = snow, TS = thunder, GR/GS = graupel/hail, P = pressure) Wiki table (sunshine hours adjusted for obstructions,. though still somewhat lower than reality)

Crazy how variable this climate can be. Here's 2007 with an even warmer January. 2017

Country stats: Average temperature: -1,5°C Record high: 6,1°C Record low: -14,4°C Precipitation: 36 mm Sunshine: 23,3 h - 2°C warmer than even the latest, warmest normal.
- Pathetic record low.
- Pathetic sunshine.
At least it was below freezing most of the time so there was snow cover. February may bring some real cold but I'm more interested in the rapidly increasing daylight and sunshine hours at this point.

around 2C above normal. also more precipitation than normal. Btw, on wikipedia's 02-15 weatherbox for Gothenburg the January mean is only -1.3'C which seems way too low, and on infoclimat it's +0.1'C which makes more sense. Do you know what's up with that? You seem to refer to Gothenburg's mean as 0'C even though you're a cold lover and prefer to use older periods.

Holy shit, that obs for Paris really is in the suicide zone. Skin penetrating cold, but not cold enough for snow, no sunshine, just wet gloomy raw muck with insipid extreme temps, no excitement value whatsoever I'll post Mildura here aswell, considering it is the next town over after you turn left at the roundabout, and the biggest place between Adelaide and Bendigo with the most facilities, especially the key big box bottle shop chains, and to see how much warmer they were especially for lows compared to Renmark.

Pretty normal month, slightly milder and drier than normal. Unfortunately a few pieces of data were missing.

Excluding the period from the 15-18th, it would've been a really nice summer month compared to last year but instead we just got our second below average Janary in a row.

No idea, but unlikely as although we get 14 hours of sunshine in a summer day, at a maximum BOM records 13.3 or 13.4 because around dawn and dusk the sun isn't strong enough to be recorded.
