I never thought I would see Paris in full bloom before Kansas City. Near Parkville yesterday afternoon (23 April 2018, 14:48 CST, local solar time 13:29) When does KC usually fully leaf out? That pic still looks like winter.

First properly blue and summery rain clouds. What time was this taken? Looks like it's 7C right now. It was taken at 8:30 PM local time, temperature was around 8°C.

That pic still looks like winter. Usually the 15th-20th is when leaves become very noticeable (but not quite full size or anything until a bit later). There are no leaves at all currently, just a few flowering trees with white flowers.

A tree that has visible spring signs! An aldee, but it's not the normal one. Maybe it's that black alder instead of grey alder. Haven't seen them in the wild before i Umeå. Looks more like fall though xd. More and more green grass appearing for each day. How's the grass in Turku and Nyköping? I did not expect to see a bunch of fog this morning. Haven't seen that in many months. Interesting too is that it disappeared just 10 minutes later at 8 am. Quite some timing considering the sun rises 4:34.

FYI the snow is gone in Umeå. And there are lots of flowers in Tavelsjö where there's 30cm snow. This was the 6th of April 2018. It's not against a wall, and March had a -5'C deviation, yet even so there are flowers (rather pathetic looking ones, but flower all the same). . I'm not Boteving. I'm simply explaining why you're wrong. That was taken in Umea, against a wall. Pictures of Tavelsjö a week later, in the exact same upload, looked like this: cdweather.boards.net/post/46432Stop the propaganda.

Half a meter away from a east facing wall isn't what I'd call against a wall but maybe I just have a doffering view of it and I'm sorry if that misled you. "Against the wall" I was thinking more something like this. And what point are you trying to make with Tavelsjö having snow? There are pretty substancial differences between Umeå and Tavelsjö.

But it is against a wall, hence why you zoomed in to take it out of shot.
Seemed from the wording that you were trying to make us think the flowers were in Tavelsjö

Oh and I really didn't mean to imply it wasn't in Umeå. That was purely a mistake.

Hahaha, a plant doesn't literally need to be touching a wall to enjoy the benefits of being against a wall

But Umeå can grow coconuts in the open, this was taken last week: And no, it wasn't against a wall.

Fields have started melting outside of the city too now. Was surprised to see some green grass even halfway to Tavelsjö. Tavelsjö is still completely covered though, as you saw from my earlier image. And where are all the spring updates from the other cold country people here? Are there wood anemones in Trondheim yet for example?

Today afternoon, unsettled, mostly cloudy and with variating rain, temps 8-9c. These birches own some sort of color but some birches and some other trees, such as maples eg look still worse as the development is very slow/non-existing with highs lower than 15 degrees.

Is that purely from the catkins, or do they actually have small leaves too?
