Yes urania93 , do not feed the seagulls in England or anywhere else. The seagulls regularly steal peoples' ice creams and food even from the tables. Anyway, I took a quick stroll at the adjacent "park" so that Babu gets his photos. Maded buds: Maded catkins: Maded flowers: Maded last years' leaves: Maded more buds and catkins: Maded snus: Maded bird: nice. have you started snusing? i haven't tried that brand of snus.

What's snus and what does it do? Snus is tobacco that you put in the "pouch" behind your upper lip

Snus is tobacco that you put in the "pouch" behind your upper lip Alright, so what effects does it actually have? Nicotine, so basically makes you feel pretty good but slower and longer lasting than cigarettes. And instead of giving you cancer you just get brown teeth, erroded gum, and permanently a stiff upper lip even when you're not doing it.

Basically a slightly healthier version of smoking then.

Just a couple of photos from my hood taken this afternoon... A traditional Maltese fishing boat called a 'luzzu'. They are always painted bright colours & have two eyes on either side of the bow, the eyes of Osiris the Phoenician God of protection, to keep them safe at sea... St. Paul's Shipwreck Church, which has been rebuilt a few times over the centuries...

Pictures from last week when we had some snowy days. I had the chance to get out to a few different spots. It's an Imgur album: imgur.com/a/r3ZQAe8It looks like mid-winter in these pictures, but except for the top of the cliff there were lots of birds making noise. Normally it's much quieter. By now the grass is green and there's a few early flowers showing up. No leaves on the trees yet. Next week's forecast has a few days in the low 20's with nights around 15 (low 70s and high 50s F) which is the first above normal stretch since February. The bugs are back, too.

Nidaros You sure it's not just a normal mountain ash (rowan/rΓΆnn)? They look like that during leafing, and are among the earlier trees to get leaves.

My money is on pussy willow.
Doesn't rowans first burst to leaf and then later bloom?

My money is on pussy willow. Doesn't rowans first burst to leaf and then later bloom? It's not pussy willow. I'm pretty sure it's rowan or something similar (although whitebeam is similar I guess). It's one of the first trees to get leaves here and even though the flowers flower later, the flower buds are there together with the leaves. Here's a rowan leafing. Snow cover is soon gone. Also, look at those clouds! Definitely nothing for the winter half-year! At first there was no rain from them though. Then it came. This is looking towards our house from the opposite side of the field where the TavelsjΓΆ center is. For such a small population there's a pretty signifcant distsnce between eastern and western borders. Dob't know what tree this is but it's got green catkins and I like it. Some kind of willow I guess. Taiga Cut down taiga Can't take this shortcut through the woods quite yet. Not when the snow is as loose as it is now. An hour's walk later and the rain is even heavier and more widespread than before. That's a bloody tonne of rain! Holy crap.
