(*also had some thunders in the background, getting closer and closer*) When you emerge from your office, and you immediately realise that you will need to run to the closest bus station if you want to avoid an unexpected cold shower.... It was literally moving toward me, that was the view looking North: while this was the situation looking i the opposite direction: At least I managed to reach the bus before it started to rain too much (the stop is about 1 Km away, so I was not so sure to make it in time).

After a bombardment of macro shots I figured I might take farther shots. Even TavelsjΓΆ has got leaves now. And no. People don't drive 40 here. Average is closer to 80. This lake is bluer than a lake without ice. The main lake is completely filled to the brim and then some from the like 300% snow cover. It's created mangrove forests. This used to be a creek, but now it's turned into a miniature fjord as the lake has advanced up the stream. Model The ice turned to slush today. It's quite interesting and something which most of you probably haven't experienced. A lake that's been frozen during a whole winter will go from being a rather thick ice cover to literal dark slush of millions of dark ice cubes in just one day, and the day after that it's all or almost all gone. Yesterday was 20'C, today was 19'C and here's some snow. This stream has caused a sinkhole. I've never seen something like it. Pretty cool. Culprit

Nyt on kuvia, saatana! Three-part photo dump. Part 1: park. Another citizen going on with his business: Larches mading needles: Flowers and stuff: Behind normal: Beech in no hurry dropping last years' leaves: Dead ash leaves and hardly any buds. Might not last long anymore this specimen: Even without much foliage it's difficult to see anything trough: ---- Part 2: urban. Need to update the "skyline" photos: The city name flowers are out. Good so that you don't forget in what city you are: Riverside lindens still bare: Typical Finnish half-stone half-wood Art Nouveu buildings: They've got nice stairs: The back yard isn't that sexy: Little more ensoleillement once in a while: Part 3: forest. Flowers! Undergrowth understandably further behind as the conifers mostly create a closed canopy: Fallen trees. The rotten smell was absolutely disgusting: Two generations of leaves in one. I believe it's a linden: Jajajajajajajja stupid subarctic rock Finland:

Correction, those are not lindens with the dead and alive leaves. They're most likely alder buckthorns.

The grass turned green about a week ago here. I saw the first leaves on bushes yesterday, getting lots of buds now due to the summer temperatures. Today was 29/16C with a dewpoint of 17 and a thunderstorm, summer weather and the plants are showing it. May 1st: Buds are breaking open on this tree. May 2nd: Should be leaves soon. May 8th: Progress!
