nei that town would have quite a dramatic backdrop. Besides a few mountains in Colorado and Montana, they're the best non-volcanic peaks in the lower 48. A mathematician tried to score how impressive peaks are by a combination of steepness in all directions x elevation change nearby. Top 20 in the continental US by his measure are Cascade volcanoes, or inGlacier National Park, Yosemite Valley, Tetons, or north Cascades. www.peaklist.org/spire/lists/contig-20.htmldeducts points for mountains nearby a more impressive peak otherwise Mt. Shuskan would make the list rather than obscure Mt. Pugh. www.peaklist.org/spire/

Wales has got my favorite kind of vegetation and landscape. Very jealous. I'm very willing to trade Västerbotten and Tavelsjö for Wales and Wrexham. Tavelsjö hit 27.2'C yesterday so we decided to hike up the Tavelsjö mountain. The Painting Lake isn't as flooded as the Botsmark lake where the summerhouse is but this grove was just about submerged. Dead trees are very rare up here for some reason. Lots of dead trees in southern Sweden. I wonder what killed this one. Odd looking spruce is gonna shoot through the roof soon. Tavelsjö mountain. 285m ASL with its base at about 115m. This year, the 14th of May was quite a bit greener than the 23rd last year Vs Spring-summer is fucking beautiful. Still some snow left at the base of the mountain, on a 27.2'C day. Quite beautiful trail. Makes the dog happy! Watch out for spiders though. Tavelsjö. We had a vegetarian barbeque but since it was vegetarian I'm not gonna share any pictures of it, but eventually the sun started getting low. Looks very picturesque with the harsh sunlight on the spruces. Our aesthetically superior dog certainly enjoyed the beauty of nature that evening. I can't deny I did so too when the trail looked like this. Eventually we made it down to the birch forests below. And after that weren't far away from the fields below, just in time for an alright sunset.

A few quick ones from today,
This beech was feeling quite poorly, victims of the cold winter?
Almost the same thing here, but this one had with the dead also new leaves. The statue is Per Brahe, which our Swedes might know:
These beeches again were in full leaf:
Statue of a person who's name I can't remember:
spot the odd one out:
All "leeches" were enjoying the sun though it was middle of the day! Some of them were hotties.
Hana vitun mi!
More ash corpses there:

There's nothing like that around here. Too populated. Wales is beautiful, but the landscape is mostly dominated by towns and agriculture.

Tavelsjö hit 27.2'C yesterday Really nice sunset photos at the end. Manhattan last Friday. Low 60s and low humidity (dews low 60s). Nice mild stretch after lots of up and downs, often cloudy. Dunno how expensive this Mercedes is but looks more expensive than most. Google's Manhattan building in the background; it's the 4th largest building in Manhattan and larger than their headquarter building. Originally built by the Port Authority in 1930 built to handle freight coming off the ports and railroads in 1930, then just their office headquarters until the Port Authority built the World Trade Center. that foreground building looks much older. Front of the building on the high line looking west to New Jersey spring green flowers out

Snow piles still lol. River running a little high. Those are some pretty miniscule islets lol. The forests along the river are so god damn nice. I wish all of Sweden were like this. Hngggggh

Babu ....is that where u live!? Well, I don't live in the forest near the river, but although I don't live on the Tavelsjö mountain, it's about 4km away at tops, and you can see our house from there, indeed. I'd rather have New Zealand landscapes though.

This is a picture I took about 2 hours ago while returning back home. Surprisingly, it hasn't started to rain yet.

Clear blue skies, Friday, beer and football. What could be better?
HJK supporters had arrived in some numbers, but not that many:
Beautiful evening, but rather chilly compared to the last days:

Looks very similar to the Fraser Valley here (Abbotsford to Hope). I don't know Fraser Valley at all, so I looked for it in google maps. My impression is that my valley tends to be narrower than that, for example a panoramic view of the largest point of the valley looks like this. In the picture I posted it is not so evident because there is a large tree on the left which doesn't allow to see the mountain on that side, but it is actually really close. More or less I was in here (those street view pictures were taken at the end of a 3 month long rain-less period, usually my place is not that dry).
