This was the view about one hour ago, in the meanwhile we have got a quite intense rain shower (but not a thunderstorm).

Can you imagine the smell of this white tree? Last year these birches turned into weirwood due to obscene cold with -6'C in May, snow, frost in June etc. This was last July. They have a little redder leaves than normal birches, so I assume it's some kind of blood birch or something, but at least so far it's not nearly weirdwood red.

Nice pics Morningrise and Strewthless, looks quite serene with the low light and light green vegetation. Very pleasant looking.

Countryside west of London, earlier this afternoon. The air smells of parma violets, any idea which flowers smell like that?

Some pics from pine forests near Harku:
Very nice, I wish Jüri looked more like this. It mostly looks like some boring German deciduous forest.

Took a bike ride yesterday. It doesn't count unless you post pictures of it, so here goes. /s
The trail was extremely straight and flat, since it used to be a train route. Great spring weather, 19C and partly cloudy. This was the biggest "hill". Barely noticeable.
Flooded field just off the trail. There has been near-record rainfall for May so far, and it's causing minor flooding all over.

A couple of pics from walks today. It was a sunny morning but clouded over around midday, so the 2nd pic wasn't as good as it could've been.

Wait, are you the one who lives in Saskatoon or Wisconsin? Either way I'm surprised that it looks like you're behind us still. I would've expected you to surpass us long ago with your very warm May weather.

Some stuff from 11-16 May: Hasn't swum in this lake just yet, but looked pretty nice over there in Jönåker: 13/5: Tried my luck in this one though and been there five times since, a bit above 12 miles from here: 14/5: Took a picture of the artificial beach the next day: 15/5: Was too tired to push third day in a succession going home those 12 miles in return so I took plenty of pictures either on or off the bike: A little panorama off the bike first: Then some nice onboard footage: Jumped off to take a picture of these three horses, once of whom a very cute foal: Onboard footage once more through this typical interior forest around here, very lush this time of the year, especially for a "cold desert"... Pretty nice alley especially when wind permits, also a small reservoir (probably for agriculture) to the right: Relatively newly planted forest up over the two farms Stockängen (Stock Meadow); (Large and Small): Here is the actual Stock Meadow: The straight where an elk mother and her two small elks crossed the road in front of me the day before, much calmer this time: 16/5: Let's just call Norrköping's downtown green:

We explored the woods of Tavelsjö yesterday. Eventually the tracks stopped and we had to make our way through the forest off-pist so to speak. Luckily it hasn't rained in half a month, but there was some myre (or more accurately just wet pools among the moss) still. But my lovely skogstroll enjoyed the leafed blueberry shrubbery all the same. This a bloody high tech blind. Normally you can spot some 2m high watch towers and tree chairs here and there. Never seen a blind like this one before. And tonight's (night?) sunset was 100% worthy of 2018's first civil night.

May has been warm and very wet. Average 15.9C, with 210mm rain as of the 20th. But April was very cold (3.1C) with no growth until the end of April. Plants are a week or two behind schedule. Are plants by you growing earlier than normal with the summer weather?

Sunset I took from work today, the camera really didn't capture all the colors or do it any justice. Was very beautiful, pic didn't come out as good as I wanted it to, but it was still nice so I decided to post it anyways.

The very first leaves were average, but nature was green maybe a week before average, and then middle of May looked like a normal end of May.
