Spring is on its merry way in N France: I was going to say, finally some green spring-like photos, and it's all bare. And then you posted a dozen images of deep snow.

^^ That Catalan flag wouldn't please a certain someone if he was allowed to post here! Went to the boondocks yesterday to ride my bicycle. I assume you took the train to wherever you started your ride? Looks like a nice ride, though still developed. How far out were you from Paris? Nice you can get that from a huge city lol, house would be invisible if you were standing by the hedge

Strange to see the RER go so far into hillbilly country: cdweather.boards.net/post/42944/threadWill do the same on the opposite direction, the architecture is different there. Edit: fun fact: the route looks like an inverted amp of Illinois.

>Swedes in sunny weather Really surprisingly few people "mother sunbathing" as we say in Sweden (while fully wearing clothes you close your eyes while slightly angling your head upwards and gently smile). Normally whole walls can be quite saturated with people sitting with their backs against it facing the sun.

Posting a few images from the largest newspaper here Trondheim contrasts within the city in spring. Photos taken April 10th. This is from Ugla, a residential area at the city hill area of the city, ca 220 m asl and ca 7 km from the fjord Then a couple of photos from the lowland part. This is Være, easternmost part, near the fjord Cred:Frank Lervik/Adresseavisen www.adressa.no/pluss/2018/04/10/Kontrastfull-v%C3%A5r-i-Trondheim-16451200.ece

Pathetic croci in Umeå last week. Catkins just started to pop out, literally, in Tavelsjö. More halo. Sunset. And this sunset was today (all the other pics were from last week).

Today's view from my window; very dull and foggy, spot the colours. Normally one can see right over the hills in the distance, but the visibility is down to about 100 meters today. I'll post a similar view each day to show the progression as trees start to leaf out.

Some pics I took in the Garden, a 3 minute walk away. The fog actually makes for a good effect. 1. First sign of spring, some cherry blossom appearing on a tree in the garden right outside the building. 2. Buxton Opera House, about 100 meters opposite from the apartment. 3. Flowers 4. Flowers 5. Waterfall in fog image post6. Lake in fog 7. Still looks like mid-winter

^ Yikes. That looks like November here. Shot today around 4pm Last year was far ahead of this year, the lack of leaves and fog makes it look wintry but in two weeks it will be completely different, as the weather makes a 180 turnaround. There should be a very rapid increase in leafing going on.

Same here. Our trees started budding around early / mid March last year. Not this year though.

🖕🏿Mörön🖕🏿 What is so strange about fog in mid April? Oberon gets at least 100 days of fog annually, which is chiefly concentrated in autumn, winter, and spring; summer still gets quite a lot, but not as much as the other seasons. Almost everytime it rains or snows here, it is fogged over...unless the cloud base is above ~1,200 m AMSL, which is common in summer and during storms.

If it's raining, then rainfog is to be expected any time of the year, whether it's a tropical or subarctic location. I'm not surprised Oberon gets fog in April as that is equivalent to October in the Northern hemisphere, and more fog-prone locations (such as Oregon) get ridiculous amounts of fog from October-February. Not so much here in the Vancouver area thankfully. In his pictures, it wasn't raining though. Dry fog is just something that is unheard of in April, even in normally foggy areas of Oregon (which I'm from). Even in Anchorage, fog was only common November-January and it was always freezing fog at temperatures near -20C. This time of year there it's insanely sunny. Freezing fog at low temps is so much better than the soupy fog at 0-5C as is common in England and Oregon.

I'd get fog in Massachusetts most often late summer and early autumn, but it'd be morning, valley fog
