Conversely, Nashville being at the far eastern part of the Central Time Zone, sees 4:37 PM sunsets at this time of year at only 36 N!

didn't realize places in the US had post-8 am, sunrises except for a fewer higher latitude spots. Today on the solstice Sunrise: 7:21 am Sunset: 4:21 pm exactly 9 hours. Sunny today doesn't feel that darkBoke. I like the differences in daylight we get, so it feels right to maximise it by having dense overcast on the winter solstice and clear blue skies all day on the summer solstice. We actually had our best warm spell coming up to the summer solstice this year, I can't remember how sunny it was but 21st June was warmer than any other day in the rest of the summer afterwards. We've had lots of gray this month, so it's a nice break. Here's a good photo of of what our sky looks like. Solstice up in New Hampshire. looks like a deeper blue up there or maybe it's just the camera

Sunset is 5:45 PM today. I don't like that it's so early, so I'm gonna use a time zone 4 hours ahead.
Sunset was 9:45 PM today! In January! Wow!

Each day is now 4,5 minutes longer than the last, soon it'll be light after work. I haven't seen the sun in two weeks but this is the time of year when it should start clearing up a little.
