Not really a true update, but just an interesting tidbit. Today has exactly a twelve hour long day, sunrise is 7:00 AM and sunset is 7:00 PM, solar noon exactly at 1:00 PM.....very symmetrical day lol.
Also, yesterday was our first day of the season with a peak sun angle under 50 degrees. True signs of autumn!

Today (October 11th):
Herndon, VA; 38.97 N
Sunrise: 07:14:51 Solar Noon: 12:56:01 Sunset: 18:37:11 Length of Day: 11:22:20 Peak Sun Angle: 43.93 degrees
Sun angles and daylengths looking like the middle of autumn now. Sun angle has dropped by 7.1 degrees since the equinox, and 30.6 degrees since the solstice, we've also lost 3 hrs and 32 min of daylight since the summer solstice (2 hrs 2 min in sunsets, 1 hr 31 min in sunrises). Sun angle now peaks under 45 degrees, which is a real sign of the upcoming winter, now the sun is pretty weak (relatively) all day, even at solar noon there's a bit of a golden glow instead of harsh sunlight. Now, we're back to the sun angle at the beginning of March (equivalent to March 1st), so we're closing in on winter-like sun angles. The sun angle is directly overhead at 7.1 S and on the horizon at 82.3 N.
