Even down here at 26 N, we had a 5:37 PM sunset today. I honestly don't mind it, it fits the whole atmosphere of the holidays. If only the weather followed suit though. Won't the long nights help reducing the sense of heat urgency though? I guess having long nights at 21-22C can't be that bad when sun exposure isn't so great? It's the fact humidity and mosquitoes are still rampant is what's annoying. Plus, 22 C nights in November after months and months of warm and humid nights blows. Shit gets old after a while. You don't need sun exposure to feel uncomfortably warm when it's 25/26 C with humidity still at midnight.

Here the mosquitoes are very active as long as there's perpetual nautical twilight, hence mid-May to late July. As soon as we get proper night skies they're done Okay, there are quite many around in August but they're not so keen on attacking any longer, even though temps are warmer than May. Interestingly enough I've noted the same thing up north too: they're dreadful in Skellefteå at 25 July, but at 5 August you don't notice them all that much as soon as all-night civil twilight ends.

Can’t imagine what winter days up at 60 N are like... This is more extreme for Baba but at some point you accept it's going to be dark most of the time and appreciate what little light there is. Snow helps a lot. I quite enjoy the surreal experience, most people don't. Nevertheless, when sunshine comes back in March it's a giant morale boost.

Can’t imagine what winter days up at 60 N are like... It feels like living on a space station for a couple of months even here at high 58N. There's nothing you can do about it though, but energy levels are very low between say Oct 25 and Feb 15. Today, 6 Nov 2017: Rise: 7:21 Set: 15:49 Dawnlight: 6:36 Twilight: 16:33

Updated the list from last time (November 1st). I included the loss of daylight and the current conditions. Next update will be November 17th.
One interesting thing (or maybe not so much so) about today is that it has the equivalent sun angle and daylight length as February 1st. So from tomorrow until December 10th, we will be seeing January-like sun angles.
You can clearly see there's a cold snap in south-central Canada and the Upper Midwest, as evidenced by the 0 F in Saskatoon and 12 F in Alexandria, MN at this hour! Also mild across interior and northern Alaska, while Anchorage and Juneau are seasonably cold.
Also continued cold across Arctic Canada as well.
