My brother works in Germany, and he's posted so many videos recently on Facebook of massive thunderstorms there. The UK is so shit for storms. Obviously there are worse places, but I don't really care about that.
Fucken Europe and it's fucken thunderstorms and hot weather.

Long Island is to the US what the UK is to Europe. Even when the SSTβs warm up, we still have to contend with the stupid stable ocean air, no matter how hot it is. This can be overcome with high dew points (75F+) and temps in the 90βs, that typically gives us sea breeze thunderstorms much like coastal Florida, but nothing severe. Normally the sea breeze kills off convection.
This year is off to a meh start, but better than recent years.
1. March 7 (Thundersnow) 2. April 16 3. May 10 (a lot of lightning) 4. May 15 (severe warnings, DEEP thunder but underwhelming)

Very impressive thunderstorm last night in London; multiple flashes per second at times a short but intense downpour. Any Brits have rainfall totals for yesterday?

Lightning here last night too but it went south and didn't go right overhead. Buxton's not exactly known for being well-placed for storms, lol.

Had an obstacle course in one of the spots that got the most rain from last week's tstorms. It sure spared the organizers a lot of water, the woods are muddy as hell. Where does he live in Germany? He lives in Heidelberg. Definitely one of the best climates in the country!

Big thunderstorm to the north of where I am at the moment. Lightning pretty much non-stop for the last hour, but too far away to be heard.

Thunderstorms so far this year:
January: 1 February: 0 March: 0 April: 0 May: 2
The NWS just keeps track of days where any thunder was recorded.
Personally, I heard a few rumbles on the 4th and thatβs yet. Usually thereβs been several storms by now.

No thunderstorms here but this is the times thunder happened so far:
16th January: Thundersnow at 2AM. 25th April: Thundery shower to the NW; a few rumbles. 27th May: Thunderstorm to the south gave a few rumbles but fizzled out.
Midlands and SE had a massive battering from severe thunderstorms yesterday, with 15,000 strikes in 4 hours.
