haha got him! Once I am done with the Welsh Triangle (fucking hell that book is creepy, I am never going outside at night or go anywhere near sheep again), I am going to get stuck into this. 600 pages of pure goodness. This one's for you Strewthless  Look how thick this sucker is. This is almost as thick as the old McMillan encyclopedias from the 1990's, except this is vastly more entertaining.  $7 on Thriftbooks. Probably will have to order it. |

Recently in the shoutbox, Razza posted a question to me, has a UFO ever been seen in Renmark? I realised I have a pair of books dedicated to Australian UFO incidents, and after reading both, I can say, no... no. Not even extraterrestrial creatures bother with this place. And furthermore, what I've gathered is that UFOs and alien creatures generally seek out more interesting places and harass more interesting people than myself.  |

Bought Inverting the Pyramid by Jonathon Wilson.
Focusses on the changing tactics and styles of play throughout history, from the mid 1800s to the modern era of football.
Heard him on a few soccer podcasts I listen to and he always seems incredibly knowledgable. Plus this book is considered an essential piece of Football Analysis.

looked it up, sounds very interesting. One review "very violent, if you are squeamish do not read". Another review: "More blood, guts , stinking men, s*** and casual brutality than you can poke a harpoon at. Sumner seeks a new beginning, after a hellish stint in the army, as a ship's surgeon on an arctic whaler." ANTARCTIC WHALER EPIC WHOLER GUY STORMS. GODDAMN!!!!!!!!!!!! Definitely sounds like something I would enjoy. I think I'm going to get it, but have to get another book aswell to qualify for free shipping. Anyone have any ideas for an extremely disturbing and cruel read to supplement my impeding purchase so I can get free shipping? Strewthless , surely you can help out here. |

Agree.... but with all the to and from flying I used to do, the paperbacks at airports were sending me broke, so now I can download whatever takes my fancy, hundreds of the suckers, any genera. I'm a convert. The Kindle is great for the plane, the bus trips to and from work, the smoko room etc. That 'Atrocities' book you posted about ? downloaded and started reading the same day. Latest New York Times bestsellers for this week ? All of 5 mins if I want one or all of 'em. |
