π
Might even crack 80F in the same week in London, and it would be nice to get to at least 70F here too. 70F will feel pretty hot after the crap we've had this 'spring'.

Goes to show there's a difference between superstitions and meteorology The summer will still end up with below average sunshine. Mark my words. Even April will. When 90% of summers are below average for a decade, is it really below average?

We had a similar crap spell of summers in the 60s, and another between 1985-1988. This current spell has been going on since 2007 (with temporary relief in 2013 and 2014), so it should be over soon.

For my town: 15th April. Shock warm spell mid month, lasting two days, then back to highs of 9Β°C. Well how about this? Could even reach 21 here on 19th! More realistically I'll call 20, but temps could get higher than forecast - as often happens.

Awesome. We've deserved it after a thoroughly cold and cloudy spring so far.

We also deserve a hot and sunny summer.
The first half of 2017 with the 2nd half of 2016 would be warm and give average sunshine.

It's 22.6c at Gravesend so the first 70F has been achieved, a bit later than usual.
First 80F will be tomorrow or Friday which is well in advance (usually late May or early June).
We will move onto the next threshold; when will the first 30c/86f temp be recorded?

I will go with 24th June. I think this summer will go the same way as last year, with a hot June, an average July and a cool/wet August.

Outside chance of first 30c on Wednesday. The forecast is calling for 28c, but often understates during warm spells.

Why not? The forecast has been increasing the closer it has got.

Next week looks your best bet. You never know, might even hit 90F down your way, B87.
Would be nice to get some proper warmth. We've been above average and dry for nearly 2 months, yet we've consistently been in the 19-23C range the entire time.
