Saskatoon 2018 updated with the sunshine stats from the SRC station. These first five months of the year are above average by about 271 hours. Looks like we're in a bit of a sunny period at the moment - 2011, 2013, and 2015 are the three sunniest years on record and 2017 is in the top 10 and now this year is on track to be quite a bit above average as well, especially with a supposedly drier than average summer in the forecast.

Saskatoon 2018 updated with the sunshine stats from the SRC station. Do you know of any other places in Canada that still record sunshine? If so where could I find the data?

Saskatoon 2018 updated with the sunshine stats from the SRC station. Do you know of any other places in Canada that still record sunshine? If so where could I find the data? Unfortunately I don't think there's much publicly available sunshine data in Canada. Environment Canada does record it as far as I know, but for some reason they just don't publish it except for the 30 year stats or the occasional month or season that's anomalous enough to be noteworthy. The Saskatoon SRC station is run by the Saskatchewan Research Council and has much more detailed stats than Environment Canada - www.src.sk.ca/download-weather-summaries - but I don't know if there are any equivalent stations for other parts of the country. And that really bugs me, cause sunshine stats are quite important and interesting and it's pretty weird that they don't get published in this country.

Looks like they averaged exactly the same temps. More rain and less sun in Paris, so probably higher dews, meaning more heat.

hottest May on recorded for the USA. Didn't stand out that much here; Amherst was 5.0°F which made it one of the warmer recent Mays but not the warmest; 2012 and 2015 were about 1°F warmer. I was away for a lot of the warmest parts here. But Massachusetts is merely red; some of the middle of the country got much hotter. I'm right under the center of it all. Wow. Supposedly May 1962 was 1.3F warmer here, but I don't see how that's even possible.
