hotter in the inland valleys of Los Angeles One that's missing there is Riverside, CA who had a Record High of 47.8°C (old record was 40.6°C set in 1942)! Holy fuck, talk about absolutely obliterating a record.

The nights haven't been anything special, but the daytime temperatures are on record pace once again so far this month: we're averaging 25.4C so far, record is 24.1C.
We've already had our warmest May and June on record whatever happens, this has been such a crazy summer people will be talking about it for a long long time.

Currently 30°C and raining at 3am Pacific (Normal Low 30°C). Expect the 4am temp to be around 25°C. Dewpoint is 20.6°C, so air is juicy as well 🙁
Forecast High is 41.1°C (Normal High 42.2°C); but, depending on how long this morning rain lasts, it could shave 3° to 4°C off of that forecast. Typically days in July and August with decent morning rain don't top 37°C here

My guess for 4am was off, I guess the rain wasn't as widespread as I thought. It's 29.4°C right now (still below average though)

Strange how cool 27°C can feel when cloudy and windy. I thought it was in the lows 20s before checking Orly's readings.

most of the eastern 2/3rds of the country is under high pressure and clear skies. Arizona is one of the few states with clouds right now. Monsoon season

Rochester got to 91 (33 C), the 6th 90 degree day this month and the 10th this year, already above average.
The dews were in the high 40s though, much drier than the recent 90s/70s combos.
It got up to 91 (33 C) in Mammoth today, with dews around 40. A bit hot for backpacking uphill with no shade but very nice for walking around mammoth and getting ice cream after.

Currently 26.1°C at 3am Pacific (Normal Low 30°C)
Forecast High is 37.8°C (Normal High 42.2°C)
We got 14.22mm of rain from last nights storm, which was a daily record, beating the previous record of 11.18mm set in 1996. That already gives us over half our normal monthly rainfall of 25.40mm and was our first measurable rain since March 11th when we had 1.02mm

"An estimated 70 people died as the result of sweltering temperatures that hit Canada's Quebec province last week, according to health officials. The Ministry of Health said that 34 of the deaths occurred in the city of Montreal. Montreal's public health office said most of those who died during the extreme temperatures were aged over 60 and suffering from chronic illnesses, the broadcaster reported. High temperatures and humidity began hitting Quebec last Sunday with temperatures in the mid-90s for Montreal -- about 20 degrees higher than normal for this time of year."
