An intense t-storm this afternoon with frequent lightning and some strong wind. Power flashed at the office and I saw where a tree snapped nearby. Didn't get much rain at my house from that storm. Lightning struck the chimney of a house.

We had a dust storm around 7pm last night followed by thunderstorms with rain around 10pm. The dust storm had 70mph gusts, and it knocked out our power at my apartment complex, still out now 🙁
Currently 28.3°C with a dewpoint of 20.6°C at 3am Pacific (Normal Low 29.4°C), Heat Index is 31.1°C
Forecast High is 41.7°C (Normal High 40.6°C)

NWS Boston discussion mentions tornadoes
Warm front lifts north of region by Wednesday afternoon putting SNE in warm sector but persistent cloud cover may limit destabilization. Models/ensembles are at odds with how much CAPE can be realized but there are signals in SPC SREF, HREF, and 00z NAM/GFS to support scattered thunderstorms Wed afternoon across interior, mainly along and west of a line from Hartford to Worcester and Lowell. Due to this uncertainty we are not overly confident in potential for severe weather in SNE, and are in agreement with SPC Day 2 Marginal outlook.
That said, while mid level lapse rates appear to be weak, environment should feature strong 0-6km shear of 40-50kt, which favors line segments with potential for localized wind damage. Also need to be aware of possibility of a tornado given low LCLs in tropical airmass, favorable hodographs which show sufficient low level turning of winds, and 0-500m helicity approaching 100. Also have localized flash flood threat with precipitable water values climbing to over 2 inches and dewpoints in lower 70s.

Warm front may bring thunderstorms. I remember @joe90 thought only cold fronts brought storms? Can't remember if it was him. From NWS Boston. From the discussion, sounds like the very humidity makes it easier
High pressure moves offshore today. A warm front will approach the South Coast Wednesday morning before lifting north of the region during the afternoon. The front may trigger scattered showers or thunderstorms. The Bermuda high then builds back into southern New England and brings a return to heat and humidity through at least next weekend, along with scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly across the interior.
still going for tornadoes
Models in good agreement that warm front will approach South Coast Wed morning. Scattered showers may develop overnight as front draws closer, with possible thunderstorms near South Coast where airmass becomes marginally unstable. Doesn`t look like enough instability or 0-6km shear to support severe weather, but that`s something to watch in later model runs as early morning warm fronts can often be a setup for severe weather this time of year.

Seoul broke the old record of all-time hottest temperature by fairly huge margin of 1.2°C, it's the first time since 1907 when the official observation has had installed, 38.4°C(July 24, 1994) replaced to 39.6°C(August 1, 2018) !!! Also, the previous national record for South Korea held 40.0°C in Daegu until Hongcheon reached up to 41.0°C reading today, even more surprising fact is that Gangwon province where the city located is very northern part of the country.
