The first week averaged 86.6/69.1 (30.3/20.6 C).
That’s the 5th warmest 1st week of August and the warmest 1st week of August since 1988!

Near Record High with a new Record max Low today
Today's High was 43.3°C (Normal High 40.6°C), and our low was 33.3°C (Normal Low 28.9°C)
The Record High of 44.4°C set in 2012 still stands, but the old Record max Low of 32.2°C also set in 2012 fell.
Today is the last day of a quite brutal 7 day Heat Wave
Our average temp the last 7 days was 38.3°C!!!
Edit: We had a thunderstorm roll through at 10pm, and had an evening low of 28.3°C, so the Record max Low of 32.2°C set in 2012 stands after all.
Also, that lowers the mean for the heat wave to 37.9°C

The 37C that was in the forecast for Friday has been upgraded to 39C! Other cities in the region are expecting similar levels of heat - 37C in Calgary, 38C in Regina, 39C in Lethbridge, and 40C in Medicine Hat. I believe this may be the strongest heatwave on the prairies since late August 2008, should be interesting to see how it turns out.

Up to 24 90F days so far. Already in the top quartile of LGA history, and we still have like a month and a half left to pump up those numbers

Today's 27/18°C, despite being comfortably above average, felt genuinely cool.
