Scripps Pier near San Diego had a sudden crash in water temperature. A bit of wind kicked up cooler water below? then fast recovery

If it's wet, like the winter of 04-05, it would be below avg, but if it's a dry El Nino, like 15-16, then it would be warmer than avg

75 F/24 C with a dewpoint of 73 F/23 C at 9PM. This has to be one of the most boring summers in terms of temperatures. Yikes. Sounds lame. Fortunately its 91° here

Another 90F day. Can't stop won't stop. Makes it number 29 on the year. Only 2010, 2002, 1991, 2016, 1983, 2005, and 1953 had more
Epic summer of 2016 had 32. Can we pass that?

Flash Flood Watch in effect later today. Lost count of the number of storms and heavy showers we've had this summer. Over 12 in/304 mm rain since July 1st. I think the last time it was this wet was summer 2011.
...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH THIS EVENING...
The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a
* Flash Flood Watch for portions of northern Delaware, northeast Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, including the following areas, in northern Delaware, New Castle. In northeast Maryland, Cecil. In New Jersey, Camden, Coastal Ocean, Eastern Monmouth, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Morris, Northwestern Burlington, Ocean, Salem, Somerset, Southeastern Burlington, Sussex, Warren, and Western Monmouth. In Pennsylvania, Berks, Carbon, Delaware, Eastern Chester, Eastern Montgomery, Lehigh, Lower Bucks, Monroe, Northampton, Philadelphia, Upper Bucks, Western Chester, and Western Montgomery.
* From 2 PM EDT this afternoon through this evening
* Several rounds of heavy showers and thunderstorms will affect the area through this evening. The heaviest rainfall is expected later this afternoon into this evening as a cold front moves across the area. Those areas that received heavy rainfall on Friday will be the most susceptible to flash flooding.
* Heavy rainfall within a short period of time can lead to rapidly rising water and flash flooding, particularly in urban areas, and along small creeks and streams. The ground remains fairly saturated due to recent heavy rains over the past several weeks.

Incredibly wet month with LGA at 6 inches of precipitation already, and Central Park passing 7. The rainfall at the end of the month will probably look like something out of Seoul

Cool day today, only got to 74 (23 C), the lowest since June 27th! The sun is a sick orange color now. Looks like someone stuck an orange into the sky. Could be from wildfire smoke although I don’t think much reached all the way here. My phone camera doesn’t do it justice: And if I zoom in farther it’s just super blurry. I did a google search and this is pretty similar to how the sun looks (the sky is obviously much brighter but that’s what the sun looks like now).
