Some notable streaks this summer:
3rd most consecutive days over 75 (6/28 to 8/17)
T-5th most consecutive days over 90 (6/30 to 7/5), also the longest since 1973
T-9th most consecutive days over 80 (6/28 to 7/7)
Through 23 days, this August is currently 10th warmest and the 2nd warmest since 1980. The end looks warm so it’ll be possible to gain a few spots.
The summer is currently the 5th warmest but again a warm end to August could bump it up.

Some interesting facts for this summer (and year) so far:
As of yesterday, we have had 95 days with highs 37.8°C(100°F) or higher. The normal amount for the year is 110, and our normal high doesn't drop below 37.8°C until Sept 24th, and our average last high 37.8°C+ is Oct 4th
We have also had 22 days with highs 43.3°C(110°F) or higher. Our average for the year is 18, and our average last high 43.3°C+ is Aug 28th (this coming Tuesday), so we might be done with those this year

Summer 2018 current stats.
May (it was basically a summer month this year): Extreme month-scale heatwave. 2nd warmest at the official station, behind May 1962. However, the 1962 record came from an old (pre-1973, when the airport was opened) station that was located in the UHI, so it's quite likely that this was in reality the warmest ever. The records for the downtown station (still UHI) agree, listing 2018 as the warmest. Near-normal precipitation, the only such month this year.
June: Well above average - +4.5F in average maximum and +4.1F in average minimum. 16th warmest. Dry, about 70% of normal precipitation (most of which came from a single event).
July: Moderately above average - +1.1F in average maximum and +0.1F in average minimum. Very dry. No statistics, because the official statistic is wildly inaccurate - on the 18th, a tiny area of extremely heavy rain sat over the airport for several hours and dropped 3.29 inches of rain, while the rest of the city remained unaffected. The downtown station's measurement of 1.05 inches, just 30% of normal, is likely far more accurate for the overall wider area.
August so far: Near average in temperatures (within 1F in both average maximum and average minimum - though this could change as we are headed for a period of several very hot days) and slightly dry (about 80% of normal precipitation).

Somehow Glasgow, MT has had 16 days of 95F (35C) or higher this summer but Oklahoma City, OK has only had 10. Only two stations in Oklahoma and about six in Kansas had fewer than 10 95-degree days this summer.

When the average high here drops below...
80F: September 7 70F: October 5 60F: November 2
Hottest part of the year is over, but I think we can count on mild/warm weather until at least the end of October. Similar to how the shitty laggy springs take forever to warm up, the falls here take forever to cool down as well
