big temperature contrast [map at 4 pm today]; low 70s in the valley / lowlands; up at 2000+ feet in Vermont in the low 50s. Wish this map had elevation, no one map with this level of detail without lots of garbage stations

Don’t know what to expect here on Monday, Long Island is a wildcard, accuweather says 90’s, TWC says 80’s, GFS says 70’s...likely overdoing the ocean influence (per usual). It all depends on the exact trajectory of the winds, 70’s are highly unlikely though.
Could get near 100 in the typical hot spots though.

Long Island might be more interesting to watch. Wonder if central New England could be a Northeast hotspot again? Guessing no, since very humid heat is more of a southern flow and less sunshine + high pressure driven. Dunno, if that actually works. Really dark today; started bright cloudy then got thicker clouds. Thought thick clouds is hard in June. Wrong. Go away, clouds. Edge of a stuck front sitting in the north Atlantic? Looks like it Weather Prediction Center (WPC) Home Pagebetter than 98°F (38°C) heat & humidity. Looks short-lived at least. We earned a hot icon. And the NWS tends to be conservative in predicting extremes, though more in the long-range. dewpoints by hour; max by NWS has 70°F Monday afternoon

Quite a bit of rainfall in the forecast for south Texas from tropical wave. Doesn't look as impressive for my area as it looked earlier this week. I wonder if this rainfall will lead to less high pressure dominance over Texas going into July.

Here's your 3 day history only light rain; monsoon air but hard to get convection for rain? Moisture from the remnants of Hurricane Bud (Eastern Pacific) moved in early Friday morning, and moved out last night. Dry sunny air is back, no monsoon in sight
