Despite a healthy amount of rain recently (15 mm), the grass is still quite yellow:

Photos from today, riding around the southern foreshore with a mate. View from a popular park to the city One of the local "beaches" about 400m west from the first photo. Viewpoint over the Swan River to the rich suburbs View from the local boat club to the city. Panorama from a "beach" on the Canning River, view of Perth CBD, the freeway. Kind of like how the sun radiates the left of the image and slowly becomes darker as the image goes further right.

What's not working with trying to upload to Imgur? What are you doing and what happens? Try any other image site? Postimage.org, tinypic etc.?

You know another thing that's great about summers at high latitudes? The sunsets and sunrises last for fucking ever. Tonight, as I had my moving out party/hangout we had one of those sunsets where you look at it and go "omg guys, look at the sky" then 15 minutes later you go "omg the sky is even more amazing". Then 15 minutes later the sky is even amazinger, and then 15 minuter later it's still cooler. And everytime you look out the window you're just blown away by the beauty. It could be because I'm drunk but this might be one of the most spectacular sunsets I've witnessed. All these are unedited straight out of the smartphone camera. First, 22.40 I saw this from my balcony and thought "wow, that looks really cool". Then it turned into this. Then this Then this And an hour after the first pic, it still looked like this. Then, an hour after that, as I went out to poop my dog, it looked like this as the sun started rising again.

some photos from Mid-June. Some photos from the botanic garden in Northampton, MA new square the town made everyone's favorite photo subject: little children rhododendrons were blooming I liked the way the streets were lined in front of the houses triple-deckers; usually don't get them outside of Boston more garden photos a few days later inside the greenshouse

A swift flew onto my balcony and couldn't get out, I set it free. Great birds, they have tiny rudimentary legs and live their entire lives in the air, they can even sleep while flying. Their high-pitched sounds late in the evening signal the arrival of summer here.

Nice! Did it just rain? any interesting weather that made it especially colorful? Nah. A light shower for 5 minutes but nothing else special. It was a pretty windy day though. Cimbed the pathetic ski slope hill called the "steep mountain"... The grass does seem to have got greener now. Unfortunately. I liked the scorched look. Not very impressive view. Apparently there's a downhill mountain bike track there. Jump straight! The slope to the right on the image above had a lot of exotic trees and bushes. Adult elm here. Bunch of... Roses? What the hell are these amur chokecherries doing here? No idea what these are. Look exotic. I feel like I recognize them fron gardens but I've never seen them in the wild (which goes for almost all the plants I've shown today). Like some rhubarb with funky indented leaves. Fall? I love wood horsetail understorey. Ooh, a wild ash! Don't know what this is. It has blue berries.

Here there are a couple of pictures I took during the last week. ^ this is a picture of Susa I took on the way to the train station in the early morning. The car window ruins it quite a lot, the view from that point is actually quite good ( here a 360Β° picture on google maps) The Turin administration doesn't seem to give a great priority to grass cutting. Here there is the situation in the southern part of the city on Monday: ^ some of those plants were higher than 1.5 m (nearly 5 ft). After the cut the view didn't improve much, it actually looks much drier than it is: ^ this is the same little park of the previous picture, but three days later This is today instead. Not a single cloud in the sky in the early morning, and only some little clouds forming along the day. It is not so easy to spot in the last picture, but there is a village along the side of the mountain in the background (I put a red circle around it). That village is called Giaglione, and it lies in an elevated spot just above the point were my valley splits into two branches. It probably is one of the villages with the best view of the whole valley, houses over there faces views like this, this or this one.

Here and there, the destination was Germany. The weather was not the greatest, the days however were different. Germany is always good. Way to Germany. Riga, Latvia. (The date on the photo should be 23rd in fact.) in Hamburg on 24th on 26th in Dresden. Old town nicely reconstructed after British and American air attacks during wwII. Potsdam, Sanssouci park Berlin's Wannsee Back again in Baltics, seashore near Riga

Back in our summer cabin. The water level has sunk a lot since the last time I was here in mid-May. May: July: May: July: May: July: Do you prefer the sun facing horizon or the non-sun side of the horizon during a sunset/rise? Vs It's funny, because people from different places always have different ideas of how a summer is supposed to be. To me, going out in the middle of the night at 00:42 and seeing this, is the heart of summer. Interestingly enough, I swear there's a noticable difference in brightness, even though the summerhouse is only 50km north. 1.6Β° below the horizon instead of 2.1Β° in UmeΓ₯ today.
