Bournemouth are on a great winning streak at the moment? We've picked the right time to stop being shit and become good again. Wont make top 2 but its always good to enter playoffs with a lot of momentum.

It's happening. A shameless coup against the entire sport by the biggest teams. This is what happens when "soccer" fans are allowed to own football clubs.
I'll only be following Wrexham from now on. I no longer consider myself a Liverpool "fan". At least not under this ownership.

Especially anal that Arsenal who are in 9th place, Tottenham who haven't won a trophy in forever, and AC Milan who are in the middle of a decade-long decline get automatic spots, while a lot more deserving teams don't. It's basically a contest of biggest names as opposed to performance

Tottenham in particular surely can't believe their luck. Debatable if they're even one of the top 10 biggest clubs in England, let alone Europe.
People are praising PSG for not joining, as if they've made some big moral stand. When in reality the reason is their links to the Qatari state, who are hosting next year's World Cup. They also own beIN Sports, who have the rights to broadcast the Premier League and Champion's League all over the world.

I like it, FIFA and UEFA are a bunch of greedy hypocrites, so this punch in the face serves them right. Football is long dead anyway, that's just the final nail in the coffin.

I'm not at all certain that this "Super League" is even possible to create and maintain. The rich clubs are probably only blackmailing UEFA. Even Juventus's chairman Andrea Agnelli said that he's a bit sceptical.

Haha fuck Man City. No quadruple for you. They lost 2 out of their past 5 EPL matches too. They're not untouchable If they lose one more match in the league they won't even reach 90 points Arsenal are still 9th in the league

Weird logic. FIFA and UEFA are bad, but these Super League leaders are magnitudes worse. It's literally "I don't like Merkel, so therefore I support Putin".

Apparently a lot of clubs are in the process of withdrawing due to an unexpected (lol) amount of backlash.

All 6 English clubs have pulled out. The president of Juventus has conceded that the without them the idea can no longer go ahead. The little man won.
Last night all the Liverpool players posted this message against it on their social media pages.

Oof. That seems shitty. I would be pissed if I cared about soccer. Isn't what keeps people who aren't fans of one of the biggest/richest few teams engaged the promise that no matter how slim they still have a chance to be the champion of the top league?

It's called the premier or champions league or something right? You got it. The money also trickles down to the smaller clubs to varying degrees. This idea was basically the pull up the drawbridge and crete an elite group who can't be touched, and have the pie all to themselves.

I remember that. Seems like the exact same thing has happened with the Super League. It's basically collapsed this morning with many of the clubs apologising. The backlash was huge, about 99% of fans were passionately against it and even the government were looking at ways to block it.

Pretty much every single fan disliked this idea, the backlash was so intense that every single club pulled out. I think they expected some level of backlash, but nothing as extreme as it ended up being
