July 2018 by region in Norway: Temp: July was the warmest since at least 1900 for the SE / Oslo - region. It was the 4. warmest for the SW / Bergen - region since 1900, and the 5. warmest for Mid-Norway / Trondheim-region and Northern Norway.
Precipitation: It was the 5. driest in Mid-Norway since 1900, the 7. driest on the SW coast and the 16. driest in SE. But remember, the SE have seen two dry months before this July.

The Swedish agricultural agency has a met station in UmeΓ₯, only about 1-4km away from the airport station (depending on where the airport station is located).
Its July values were 26.3/12.9 vs 25.3/13.0 from the airport and 26.4/15.1 from the University rooftop station.
Oddly enough, in July 2014 the Agri met station recorded 24.3/11.0 vs the airport's 25.1/11.9, so whereas it had notEably higher highs 2018 compared to the airport, it had noteably lower highs.
The only reason I can think of is the agri met station is surrounded by agricultural fields, which may have been either a lot more ripe, dry or even harvested in 2018 compared to 2014, (so yellow wheat or harvested yellow wheat in 2018 compared to moist green wheat in 2014) whereas the airport has more short grass around it that was similar in 2014 and 2018. Idk. Very odd discrepancy.

2 degrees above average, but nothing extraordinary. The heatwave early in the month was pretty intense. Rest of the month was relatively benign in terms of temperatures, but humid. August has been even more oppressively humid and we've recorded more rainfall MTD than all of July. After getting into the early stages of a drought at the start of summer, it's been soaking wet. The rain and greenery is nice but the non-stop warmth and humidity is draining.
