^^ Blue baggers....they beat Richmond in round 1 and carried on like they were certain Premiers...hence the joke going around of March Premierships. I hate the bastards equally....Collingwood and Carlton, but it was great to see the Blue baggers puss out in the way they have in the last to home and away rounds against Melbourne and Collingwood.

Even speaking from an objective point of view, I feel like Collingwood are a bit more likeable this year just from the way they've played their footy. However, this likeability is coming from an extremely low base

Updated video from the AFL on what Australian Rules Football is, basic rules and scoring system.
Also my tips are Sydney and Geelong for this weekend. Honestly Sydney vs Brisbane would be such a fucking chaotic, fun and high scoring Grand Final but I see Geelong beating Brisbane this weekend honestly.

Still proud of the boys. To get from 17th and the club being in a shambles in 2021 to our season this year is extraordinary.

Melbourne Chilly But Clearing For AFL Grand Final ( source: Weatherzone ) The 2022 AFL Grand Final between the Sydney Swans and Geelong Cats should be played in cool but mostly fine conditions at the MCG on Saturday, as the Melbourne weather clears – hopefully in time for the bounce at 2:30 pm. There's a strong likelihood of wet weather around Melbourne on Friday as a trough and front crosses Victoria. You know the old saying, "rain on your parade"? Well, the traditional Friday AFL Grand Final Parade could indeed be a soggy affair. But the weather should start to clear on Saturday as a high pressure ridge moves in behind the front. The question is how quickly We're writing this story on the Tuesday afternoon before the grand final, and at this point in time, it looks like some showers could still be lingering around on Saturday morning. But if grand final day dawns grey and gloomy and you're heading to the game or even just planning a backyard barbie in Melbourne, don't panic. Skies should definitely clear by the final siren, and as mentioned, there's a decent chance of persistent sunshine from the bounce onwards. As for temperatures, it will be fairly chilly Cooler southwesterly winds will restrict the top to just 14°C on Saturday, after a string of 20-degree days to round out the working week. Melbourne's average September max is 17.3°C. This is the first AFL Grand Final to be held in Melbourne since 2019, with the 2020 decider moved to Brisbane and the 2021 season finale in Perth due to the Covid pandemic. Both were held in dry conditions although torrential rain fell before the 2020 match in Brisbane, in what was the AFL's first night-time grand final. How wet has Melbourne been this month to date? Melbourne has so far seen rain of 12 of 20 days in September 2022 (the monthly average is 10.4). The average total September rainfall at the city's Olympic Park weather station (just across the railway tracks from the MCG) is 58 mm. A total of 40.6 has been registered in the gauge so far this month, in what to date has been a fairly typical September. As for the winner of the game, we predict a deluge of goals from... sorry, we're weather people, not sports pundits!

Congratulations to Australia's most well run retirement home. Didn't look like losing all day. Sydney were shocking, apart from Warner and Fox.

My ladder prediction
1) Brisbane Lions (6th) 2) Western Bulldogs (8th) 3) Port Adelaide (11th) 4) Melbourne (2nd) 5) Fremantle (5th) 6) Richmond (7th) 7) GWS (16th) 8) St Kilda (10th) 9) Geelong (1st) 10) Essendon (15th) 11) Sydney (3rd) 12) Carlton (9th) 13) Gold Coast (12th) 14) West Coast (18th) 15) North Melbourne (17th) 16) Adelaide (14th) 17) Hawthorn (13th) 18) Collingwood (4th)
Premiers: Brisbane (Geelong) Norm Smith: Hugh Mcluggage (Isaac Smith) Coleman: Lance Franklin (Charlie Curnow) Brownlow: Jack Steele ( Patrick Cripps)
Reviews of my season predictions
Adelaide: gradual improvement, will still be shaky in defence with the loss of Talia (such a weird delisting) and Jake Kelly leaving; will require a lot of standing up from Dodee and Butts to become pillars in defence for 2022.
Expecting a finish in the 14th-18th range, will say 16th.
Good prediction, Butts in particular was very good this year. Did not expect to see the emergence of Fogarty as a true target up forward. Overall a solid year of progression for the Crows, finishing 8-14 with a percentage of 86.7.
Brisbane: after a squeeze into the top 4 but a dramatic exit from finals, Brisbane will be looking revenge and a reward for their consistency since 2019 of finishing in the top 4 every year. A great list and culture build since 2016/2017 which has been reaping rewards in the home-and-away season but have been dramatically upset (or simply beaten by better teams) during the previous three finals campaigns. Expect to see Zac Bailey become a god-tier midfield forward, an exceptionally even forwardline with Cameron, Danhier, McStay and Hipwood (also Rayner coming back) really preforming well. Honestly my big prediction is for brisbane in 2022 to be one of the all-time great teams, maybe a 20-2 record or 19-3. Their defence is excellent, then midfield (albiet lacking in depth) is very solid and their forwardline is evenly balanced with little to fault.
Expecting a 1st-3rd placed finished, out of the top 4 would be a fail.
I mean....the midfield and forward sections were excellent and very accurate. The problem is their defence completely fell apart this year, they were unable to stop teams from scoring quickly and heavily; so although Brisbane did play very well in their front half they conceeded a lot of high scores and were never able to fully kick away in most games. Really need to sort our their defence. So a failed prediction to an extent...a good year but definitely not a year to remember.
Carlton: this is tough, because with precedence since like 2015 they've been hyped to make finals again...and I really like their trading...i dont know. Honestly this could be the year they make a massive jump and really surprise people (they have a stupidly easy fixture) but also it's fucking Carlton. I feel like the first half of the year will be super inconsistent (new coach, new players) and then they'll look good from rounds 13-20 and look like making finals; then lose their last 3 games by like 60 points each lol. Players to look out for: Matt Kennedy, bit of an all-rounded midfielder who played a decent amount in the 2021 season, not a huge amount of disposals but a solid player who could link a lot of the stars together. Pat Cripps; he's gonna be excellent this year. George Hewitt, traded from Sydney in 2021 he's a pivotal player in the midfield and defence with his strong work ethic and great teamworking ability.
Expect a 6th to 14th place finish, i'm being pessimistic cos it's Carlton.
I'm incredibly proud of this prediction. Kennedy, Hewitt both being excellent and adding a lot more balance as I predicted. Excellent prediction and they also didn't make finals....cos it's Carlton. Bang on...next, in a good run of prediction form the next one must also be grea--
Collingwood: they're rebuilding with a weird list dyanmic, a lot of older established players near retirement and lots of younger players with little experience. Gonna be a while until they're dominant again, also want to see a recognisable brand of football. Players to look out for: Isaac Quaynor: one of my favourite players, dashy and stylish half back flanker who's really good fun to watch, got a contract extension and looks to be a player who'll stick by Collingwood for a long time to come.
Expect a 16th-18th finish
Okay you know what, a "recoginisable brand of football" was discovered and worked to a ridiculous extent. Hugely overperformed this year and I was correct with their weird list dynamic...but it worked??!?!? Their springboard football tactics worked really well, with a mass of mid-small forwards and incredible accuracy from rebounding half backs and midfielders to spring verrrrry quick transition from defence. Truly surprising and i'm entirely happy to be proved wrong.
I'll add more later.
