ral31 ah so basically just a couple of rumbles from storms avoiding you? That sucks and is fucking gay. One of Renmark's most infamous running gags. How many days did you get with an actual proper lightning show? Iโd guess 5 moderate t-storms overhead where I live. I think the best thunderstorm at my house I missed while at work. I drove thru a nice storm on the interstate with some close range strikes and small hail. The best lightning show I witnessed came from what looked like an epic storm just to my south.

+4.7F anomoly for the month. Makes it easily the second warmest August on record, only behind 2016. The first half was incredibly humid and stormy, with thunderstorms seemingly every other day. The last week or so has been very sunny, but still humid. Very Singaporean month here

August in my nearest station: temperature wise +2.1c above average; precipitation - the first part of month was very dry but the weather changed in the middle of the month and and in the end we got much more than average rainfall (about 150% compared to average); the sunshine was about average (+7 hrs when to be exact).
The climatological summer in general was a good one, temperature wise all months were above average (although the June was almost borderline), the sunshine was normal (although I do not have accurate data for July). It was a warm summer although not so warm as summer of 2010 (for example 19 above 30c days then, 7 days this year).

August in Malta came in a little above average, with highs slightly below & lows higher than average. There were no heatwaves. Most notable was the amount of cloud/rainfall & thunderstorms, Luqa airport saw 52.6mm of rainfall, 411% the August average, though not record breaking, the wettest August recorded was in 1964 with 155.5mm. Because of the amount of cloud & rainfall sunshine was below average. Stats from my PWS in St. Paul's Bay: Average High: 32.2C (-0.3C) Average Low: 26.9C (+1.9C) Overall Mean: 29.6C (+0.8C) Highest Max: 35.8C (3rd) Lowest Min: 23.3C (29th) Lowest Max: 28.6C (22nd) Highest Min: 28.7C (3rd) Rainfall: 25.6mm (427%) Days with Rain: 6 Days with Thunder: 4 Sunshine: 312.0hrs (86%) Max UV: 10 (13th) Min UV : 8 (25th & 27th)

More of the same. No precipitation included for July and August because incredibly uneven precipitation patterns have made those statistics wildly inaccurate. (How inaccurate? MCI Airport's July rain total is 5.29 inches, while MKC (downtown station)'s July rain total is 1.05 inches. Which is right? Both! That's how localized all precipitation here has been this summer.)
