Time of peak foliage in recent years according to the fall foliage network:
2008: October 13 to October 27 2009: October 15 to November 2 2010: October 18 to October 28 2011: October 17 to October 28 2012: October 8 to November 1 2013: October 14 to October 28 2014: October 18 to November 1 2015: October 21 to November 1 2016: October 22 to November 1 2017: October 24 to November 8 2018: October 27 to November 8
Seems to mostly start around the second half of October and end at the very end of the month. The recent very warm falls have been starting more in the last week of October.

Interesting cold air bias in the east of Greenland versus warmer air on the west coast. Quite cold in Iceland at the moment as well.

^ I guess Alaska is warming too. Was that a daily record? The wiki page for Anchorage claims a record high of 17C/62F for Nov...?

Horrid, vile, shitty weather today!
Temps between 38-41 (3-5 C) the whole day and 0.44โ (11 mm) of rain, which has been non-stop light rain.
This is fucking horrible weather, the only way it could be worse is if it was moderate or heavy rain instead of light rain.

Yep, that's Shitchester outside of summer for you... Not really. Maybe 3 times a month itโs this bad, sometimes more but itโs certainly not that common. And Iโve lived here 17 years now so you donโt need to tell me what weather I can expect.

I remember rainy days in the 40s pretty much every October I lived there, and outside of summer, Western New York seems to have more of a cold bias compared to say Ohio or Indiana. Like cold is the path of least resistance sort of
