Cold air damming; example of a setup that causes below freezing rain; Appalachians trap the cold while milder goes aloft. knot

May have a shot at frozen precip early tomorrow morning, but not expecting much if any. Better chances in northeast LA into Arkansas and Mississippi.
Stayed in the upper 30's most of the day today!
Saw reports of winter precip earlier today in northwest Louisiana and east Texas, even close to Houston!

Boulder got 14.2โ (36 cm) from the snowstorm Sunday-Monday. Lucky fucks. Amarillo, TX broke their 2nd longest snowless streak with 4.4โ (11 cm). Meanwhile, weโre stuck on 0.2โ (0.5 cm) at the airport. The next 2 weeks look cold and snowy so that should increase a lot. Forecast looks decent, better than the rainy shit we had earlier in the month but still TOO FUCKING STABLE. I would be ecstatic if I had your forecast, fuuuuuuck. Not that cold but it's looking snowy.

Today should be the last day of this cool snap, tomorrow afternoon we are going to more zonal flow as opposed to the current troughing. Temps will be around average tomorrow thru Tues (last day of the 7 day forecast)

Didn't see any frozen precip this morning. If anything fell I slept through it. There were some reports of light snow nearby.
Looked like accumulation in the north part of LA.

big upper low over east Texas/Louisiana. Warm northern plains, cold Texas and northern Mexico. Houston got its earliest snowfall of the year. Really flat temperature pattern from high elevation Mexico to the plains of Canada; Calgary was warmer than Mexico City for a bit anomalies. Freezing rain for the southeast coming?

Heavy snow today. Spotters reported up to 5โ in some northwest suburbs, airport picked up 0.07โ of precipitation, not sure how that translates into snow.
Supposed to get another 3-6โ tomorrow night as another storm moves through.
I love when we get an active, snowy November like this.
Narrowly missed our first ice day with a high of 33 (1 C).
