Arctic Canada looking quite cold, to give you an idea, Baker Lake's average high for the middle of the forecast (say, November 9th) is -15 C, so consistently about 10 C below average! Eureka's average high for November 9th is about -25/26 C, so quite below normal there as well. Nice to see Arctic Canada being colder than average. Seems this whole autumn has been cool up there. I wonder if this cold pattern will hold up, forecasts from up there in January/February will be quite interesting.

Winter finally settling in Khabarovsk (48N), with the lows being representative of a cool January here... Inukjuak (58N, Hudson Bay) getting ungastfreundlich as the Germans would say (inhospitable)! Pajala in Sweden at 67N, is the mildest of the bunch, as is actually expected in spite of being the northernmost by far! This of course being part of the North Atlantic hinterland 14.4 mm of wet snow precipitation tomorrow won't be that fun. Also check the sunrise and sunset times

Inukjuak is honestly a lot more shocking cold in spring than it is in autumn.

Inukjuak is honestly a lot more shocking cold in spring than it is in autumn. Yeah, the sea ice and the cold meltwater really does the place a lot of damage. It's still amusing that the time when it gets the most westerly maritime moderation (now) with high cloud cover, it's still colder than Umeå is in January for the whole of this month Inukjuak's normal November mean is -7.4°C and for perspective: the coldest ever means in Norrköping and Stockholm are -1.8°C. Even interior Örebro at 59.15N far from the Baltic Sea and the Atlantic never fell beneath -2.5°C means in Nov

First -40 F/-40 C of the season coming to Eureka? Quite nippy there right now, currently -36 F/-38 C! No high above -29 C, which is still well below the average November high. Sorry I jerk off to Eureka so much, it's the coldest low elevation place in North America and the second most northerly inhabited place. It's the Gole of North America if you will. Eureka is located more inland than slightly more northerly Alert, which makes it colder. It's colder because it's more inland. Eureka is the coldest town in North America.

Is it permanently inhabited or is there a rotation? As far as I know, Resolute is the coldest inhabited place in the northern hemisphere. It is more inhabited than Eureka because the same people live there year round. Resolute is the coldest inhabited place in the northern hemisphere.

Haha, they have a symbol for clear skies but polar night at the same time? We almost had a forecast we could genuinely call Full Overcast Polar Cold

Yeah, I believe it's a research station lol I misspoke earlier.... It is only a research station. Nobody lives at Eureka because it's not a permanent dwelling, it's a research station, so no one lives there. Eureka is the coldest low level place in North America.

Nice work alex992 just remember to put the image markers [i.mg] [/i.mg] without the dots obviously around your pic If I write them just "img" with those brackets around it doesn't even show how it's done lol. But, if you see the "image" thing on top of the post, you just need to copy + paste your Imgur link into that and it's gon' work man Next weekend up there looks just horrific btw

^ Yes, quite good! Quite swingy in Summit Camp, looking milder than normal towards the end of the forecast Verkhoyansk looking ever so slightly milder than normal. Aside from a couple of days, Eureka is looking milder than normal. Lame. Oh well, the coldest time of the year there is late February/early March so they have quite a ways to go.
