It was a cold, wet, cloudy boring piece of shit as all Novembers always are. There was a particularly nasty period of easterly winds the latter half causing constant overcast, low temperatures with no diurnal range and drizzly conditions for many days on end.

Poverty Povember...all because of that bloody South-Westerly polar front giving me late-season snowfall on the 22nd to 23rd of this month (you've all seen my photos on the Autumn/Spring thread, correct?). Plenty of drizzle, too. Lots of precipitation this month, however—at least one good thing about that SW outbreak, along with variety! 22nd-23rd November snowfall photos (in case you missed them): cdweather.boards.net/post/79670/thread

Some quickly monthly summaries. Overall this November was rainier than average, while temperature-wise it was a transitional month as it is supposed to be. Closest weather station to my villageTurin metro areaTurin airportNot enough rain? Try the northern part of the region, for example the Lago Maggiore area [1]Would you prefer something colder and snowier? No problem, just move at higher altitude: BardonecchiaSestriere^ in this last place, the ski season started today.

urania93The snow and precipitation numbers for Sestriere don't make sense. Sestriere has 95cm fresh snow in February, but only 12.6mm precipitation. That is a 75:1 snow ratio! Normal in the US is 10:1 or 15:1. Did you mean to write 126mm? March and April also have very high snow ratios, and February in Bardonecchia

November in Saskatoon was slightly below average and a little wetter than average, though the last 10 days were slightly warmer than average and had only one precipitation day. This was the 7th below-average month this year. Average high: -3.4C (normal: -1.2C) Average low: -10.3C (normal: -10.7C) Mean temperature: -6.8C (normal: -6.0C) Highest high: 4.1C (Nov 4th) Highest low: -1.2C (Nov 1st) Lowest high: -10.6C (Nov 8th) Lowest low: -23.3C (Nov 17th) Precipitation: 15.6mm (normal: 13.0mm) Precipitation days: 13 (normal: 8) Will post sunshine hours next week when the SRC station data gets in. It's been a fairly gloomy month overall, but that's somewhat normal.

The precipitation I reported is the sum of the "daily precipitation" over all the days, but I suspect that it could only correspond to the rain amount measured(or melting snow for mountain stations during the winter). Now that I checked it, often during a snow day those reports say "20 cm of snow, 0 mm of precipitation". Soon or later I should find some time for looking for how those weather stations actually work :/

It reports both snow depth and fresh snow accumulated during the day, at least those two columns are pretty clear. The data tend to look like this: soon or later I will do some research on these data, I don't know when but I will.

Apart from that March, this surely must be as close to ideal as Turku can be for you?

And June, and too little precipitation. Otherwise yes.
