Spring in Northwest Pennsylvania

I'm impressed the snow made it that far south. Eastern Canada has gotten a bunch of wintery weather lately but I didn't realize it extended all the way down to PA. We've been having a pretty decent spring out west, not super warm but no real callbacks to winter either.

Massive change from yesterday to today.
Yesterday only reached 42 and had some sleet and flurries.
Today hit 72, a full 30 f warmer.
Back to cool weather this weekend but it will be near 70 again next week. Nice variable pattern weβre in but I wish it was warmer.

Seattle's record for the most consecutive rainy days in April is 11 days on April 7-17 1955. So far, April 3-12 this year has received rain so that's already a 10-day streak. If we get rain tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, we would have a 12-day streak and break the record.
And an older tweet from yesterday:

This April has been a mild one so far, averaging 2.1 F (1.2 C) above average; average to date is 65.5/41.9 so far and normally would be 63.7/39.5. That anomaly will get bigger in the next week or so as it looks like highs will be in the mid-upper 70s and quite mild lows as well with the exception of Monday and Tuesday.
This morning the low was only 62 F (17 C) and the high today will be 76 F (24 C), very late May/early June type weather.

TWC calling for a chance of severe thunderstorms tomorrow night, would be awesome if it played out. I see ral31's area is in a high risk of severe thunderstorms/tornadoes for this afternoon, stay safe out there!

We've been having a pretty decent spring out west, not super warm but no real callbacks to winter either. Western PA and NY (and West Virginia too) have the coldest springs/falls per latitude in North America (barring high mountainous western regions). I even average a trace of snow in May usually

Kind of relieved tbh, since the set up was looking pretty dangerous. Strong t-storm nearby this afternoon while I was at work, which prompted a tornado warning. It tracked from the west to north of Alexandria. Seemed to be a similar track as supercell last Saturday. Looks like parts of east Texas got hit by tornadoes. Warnings this evening in MS.

^ I see quite the line of strong thunderstorms in Mississippi right now, almost exactly along the I-55 corridor, they're getting pounded right now. Wonder if there's any tornado reports coming from there. How strong were the tornadoes that hit East TX?

Not sure what the tornadoes in east TX were rated yet, but looks like some substantial damage. 2 deaths and multiple injuries from one tornado. Today's damage reports so far. Storms seemed kind of disorganized over Louisiana today, so I guess that lessened the severe threat here.

Woke up at 3 AM and saw a couple vivid lightning bolts. Looks like my old location missed out, as usual: Itβs currently 80Β°F at LEX, much warmer than forecast, and weβre on the western edge of a tornado watch.

Yesterday, April 13, recorded 51F/45F. The mean was 48F which resulted in a departure of -2F. First negative departure at SeaTac since March 13, although April 11 had a departure of 0F. Overall, the streak had 28 consecutive days with positive departures and 30 consecutive days with positive or zero departures. Also, we just exceeded our monthly average rain total. We have 2.75" of rain already this month while the average is 2.71". We need to get rain before midnight today in order to set a record for the most consecutive days with rain in April. Currently the record is 11 days from April 7-17 1955. Still no warmth in the forecast. The warmest temperature is 65F on April 18. Being realistic, I'd have to say there's a likely chance of not reaching 70F until May.

The snow today was beautiful, I took some pictures for the photo thread. It won't last long with 40s tomorrow and almost 60 Tuesday.
By April there are a lot of small birds back for the summer, when it snows they stand in the road since it's warmer and not covered in snow. Driving along I scared up a few birds every minute or two, hundreds of birds in the road. Same thing happened last year but the snow was more last year. I know there are lots of birds in spring since I can hear them, but when most of them are in one place it really shows how many birds there are.
The coming week will be warm and wet with a few rainy days in the 60s that should get the plants to start budding. Only a few buds so far, and no leaves, but grass turned green a few weeks ago.

Cool day by mid spring standards here with a high of just 64F even though it became mostly sunny this afternoon. Pretty breezy also.
Forecast to get down to 45F tonight.

Chilly morning for April: Didn't it snow in early May or something in Normandie last year?

We had 0.11β fall in 14 minutes a little while ago, rate of almost 1β/hour.
No thunder though even though we were supposed to get some.
Meanwhile, the counties directly south and east of me and the whole surrounding area have tornado watches and are supposed to get severe t-storms, hail, high winds and a warm front. NOTHING here.
Fuck Lake Ontario, ruins all our interesting weather.
