Almost continuous thunder and lightning flashes to my west right now, though not sure if it will hit me.
There were t-storms today, though I didn't really get much. Severe storms just north of my area. Got up to 80F today.
Tomorrow storms should be more widespread with slight severe risk. Models show a squall line coming thru.

This past March was officially the 8th driest ever in Saskatoon, with 2.7mm of precipitation, and the driest ever recorded in Regina, with 0.8mm. We had showers in the forecast for today but got almost nothing and have pretty much only bright sunshine in the weekly forecast. Looks like we might be in for another very dry spring/summer.

This shows just how variable March 2019 is compared to other Marches in Seattle:
Standard deviation of daily mean temperatures was the largest by far. (Click on the tweet and then click on the graph on the right.)
Also if you look at all months recorded, November 1955 is the most variable. March 2019 was the 11th most variable.
I know using standard deviation may not represent day-to-day variation well as most of the more volatile months for Seattle probably just have a few very cold or warm days and otherwise fairly consistent temperatures. However, I still thought it was interesting, and last month still certainly was very variable compared to other most Marches.

There ended up being a tornado warning with this storm not long after posting this yesterday evening! However, that storm missed me and I hardly even got any rain from it. I don't think the storm actually produced a tornado. The HRRR showing a storm complex coming across the area this afternoon. Thinking more of a damaging wind than tornado threat. Also under a flash flood watch.

^ Epic thunderstorm activity you're having!
Both NWS and TWC have a 79 F (26 C) high for tomorrow with possible thunderstorms here. Will feel very late spring/early summer like. I wonder if we'll hit 80 F (27 C) for the first time tomorrow.

63Β°F with a dewpoint of 60Β°F after a rain band moved through a couple hours ago. Think this is the highest DP since February.
Thunderstorms possible through tomorrow. Hope we get something decent.

Already up to 80F here at noon! DP of 70F. SPC upgraded the severe risk to enhanced! This is mainly due to damaging wind threat; tornado risk looks low. The latest HRRR run showed 6+ inches of rain in west central LA! Glad I'm not working this afternoon so I can watch the storms. Slight risk up to southern Kentucky.

1 week into April now. Clearly spring weather now, more days above 50 than not. Snow is gone. Ice is gone...still some on the larger lakes in the area I think. Ground is not muddy for the most part now, spring thaw is just about done. Grass is green for the most part. A few small plants have started growing. No buds on trees or flowers yet. Birds are chirping, frogs making noise near the ponds and swamps. Saw a few mosquitoes this week, and ticks are awake but most bugs are still not out yet. I saw a lost, confused mosquito in early February but I don't know what it was doing out in the snow.

Ended up with 3.94" of rain in my gauge today! Heavy t-storms with a lot of lightning and some gusty wind, but didn't really have anything at severe levels. Some severe & tornado warnings in the area, but nothing at my location. I was under a flash flood warning.
Cleared up for now, but could get more later tonight and tomorrow.

It was spring, but now we're back to winter again. Might get some sleet or snow tomorrow. Forecast has a 3C high on Wednesday.
Boke.

Well this warm spell was a bust. It was supposed to hit 70 yesterday but it was full overcast all day and only got to 66.
Today was also supposed to hit 70 and the sun came out but who knows what happened and it only hit 66 again.
Meanwhile, fucking Dansville just 40 miles away hit 73 of course.
And now next week looks like shit with high 40s/low 50s and rain every fucking day.

It hit 82 F (28 C) here today with a predicted high of 79 F (26 C), first 80 F of the year. Thought we would get some thunderstorms out of this but we just got boring light rain instead.

crazy contrast today; NYC was 76Β°F in the evening when it was 46Β°F in New Haven; 75 miles away. Can't remember something like that happening too often β in years? Trough to the east causing a sharp temperature contrast. At 5 pm: in southern Vermont at 2000 feet, it was barely above freezing and foggy in the afternoon. Cold inversion. Mixed in the evening and warmed up

^That highly pisses me off since I'm on the bad side, but it is a pretty interesting gradient to say the least. Seems kinda rare or at least uncommon for NE.
Thankfully I happened to be on LI, so was able to escape the worst of it (though it did still reach mid 60s today ). Now it's nice and foggy with temps in the 40s, much better than daytime.

This April leaves much to be desired here. Last thursday was terrible.... Unusual max temp pattern too on many days, with the NE being the warmest part of the country. 06.04: 04.04:

A rare scene in Japan how snow fell on a fully-bloomed cherry blossom, back to winter mode. Linear graph of daily temperatures observed at noon in downtown Tokyo for this month so far. National map of Japan at 13:00 today, Tokyo is struggling to barely pass 5.0Β°C brr Recent 24-hour graph and statistic of Tokyo, an unusual day for April when daytime much colder than night. A constant rainfall accompanies wind blowing from northwest direction suppresses any warm influences from the ocean.

NWS upped the forecast to 80Β°F tomorrow. Would be our first this year. This afternoon reached 74Β°F (23Β°C) with low humidity.

Severe/tornado risk here Saturday looks concerning. Under enhanced risk right now, but wouldn't be surprised to see a moderate or even high risk eventually...
