•In February, Pendleton, OR had 32.5” of snow.
Their previous snowiest February ever had 16.8”, so this was nearly double the previous record!
Out of 90 whole seasons, this February would have been the 10th snowiest!
•In Glasgow, MT, February averaged -3.4 f, a full 22.6 below average. However, this was just their second coldest February. The coldest, 1936, averaged -15.8 f.
That’s a stunning 12.4 f colder than the next coldest February!
•Tahoe City, CA had 142.5” of snow in February, with 3 days of over 20”.
Meanwhile here, it’s cold and stable and boring but not record setting so it’s still boring. Nothing good in sight...

Predicted low was 15 F (-9.4 C) last night, it's 6 AM now and currently 23 F (-5 C). Very disappointing, but whatever. Still nice and cool.
Btw, yesterday the temperature range within the lower 48 was 137 F (76.1 C), from -46 F (-43.3 C) in Elk Park, MT (18 miles ENE of Butte) to 91 F (32.8 C) at Miami/Kendall-Tamiami airport!

Lund is having a really warm and early start to spring with willows all yellow from flowering already back in February, and some trees already starting to flower, dandelions popping up etc. Meanwhile here in Umeå it's fullblown winter with a low of -22.7'C last night at the airport... (At 22.00 it was -20.7'C at the airport and -14.1 in the city center)

record breaking cold in Montana (and across the border in Alberta and Saskatchewan ). -35°F in Glacier National Park, Bozeman reached -39°F Damn, some of those places absolutely shattered their old record by more than 10 F (5.6 C). This morning got colder than predicted, dropped to 15 F (-9.4 C) when the predicted low was 18 F (-7.8 C). South wind right now warming things up, still only 23 F (-5 C) outside.

fast moving "clipper" system bringing snow to Minnesota and rain to most of the Northeast weakens as it goes east, and pulls up a trail of mild air from the south at mid-levels bringing rain rather than snow to almost all the Northeast except the White Mountains and Maine not a particularly impressive storm but should interesting to watch

Diurnal range was low many times, suggests it was rather windy.
