We were 7.6'C. November would usually get at least a couple of 7's. Also look at this. This is what I'm talking about. What the actual hell is this. Would you even call this diurnal range? There's a day-night tendency in there, but of course the day is highly volatile. I'd still say that the avg temp at 12:00 must be significantly milder than the avg temp at 3:00 in winter even in Umeå?

Around the solstice the noon is perhaps half a degree warmer on average, and in February 2'C warmer. Edit: 4'C warmer around noon in mid-February, 2'C in early Feb. Today the noon is 3'C warmer on average.

It reached 87F (30.5C) today, setting a new daily record... It has been 85F (29.4C) or above for 5 days straight now. Cold front forecast to come by Wednesday will bring temps down a good bit.

I know - the southern tier has just been roasting recently, just as the northern tier has been very cold and snowy. This is producing a larger than usual temperature gradient from north to south, though the extent of the heat and cold has varied widely recently (sometimes heat moves north, sometimes cold moves south). Almost like heat miser and cold miser from the Year Without a Santa Claus .

Salvation looks to be about a week away. I want to say there's no way it could ever get worst than the last two years but I don't want to jinx us.

Last night finally recorded the first freeze.
That snaps a 212 day streak of above freezing weather, the 8th longest on record. The record was 216 days in 1898, 1901, 1916 and 1938.
Today was sunny for the second straight day, reaching a high of 48 (9 C) after a low of 28 (-2 C).

I have a good feeling about this winter, I'm not sure why. I get the feeling it might be a front-loaded winter too.

Today's high of 67F was reached at midnight; it's been in the 50's all day. Overcast with a bit of drizzle/light rain. The forecast over the next few days looks fairly decent.

Perhaps a repeat of 2010-2011? February/March with the rapidly intensifying sun angle with warmer than normal conditions would feel exceptionally warm after a cool December/January. Not sure if I like front-loaded winters, I'd prefer them being mid-loaded. Though ideally, fully loaded with Dec - Feb all being exceptionally cold. Lol.

First snowfall of the season tonight!
Currently 32 (0 C) with a 23 (-5 C) dew @ midnight. It stayed raining around 7 PM, then turned to snow at around 10 PM. 0.13” (3 mm) of precipitation has fallen so far.
Its also been quite windy with gusts near 40 mph.
The snow layer is pretty thin now with a dusting on the grass, my cars and my outdoor table. It remains to be seen whether it counts as a trace or 0.1”...

By far the coldest it’s been since March today. The high was 32 (0 C) at midnight and it’s dropped as low as 20 (-7 C) since.
There’s about 2” (5 cm) of snow on the ground now.

Yesterday ended up with a low of 20 (-7 C) and today’s low so far is 22 (-6 C). Neither were a daily record.
Yesterday had a high of 32 (0 C), so we still haven’t had a sub-freezing high.
The last two days had 1.5” (4 cm) of snow fall. There’s still some on the ground now, but I’m guessing it’ll be gone by the afternoon.

Fucking useless garbage fucking climate here. The cold front that was being shown for next week got completely eliminated, and the cool (relative) weather they were showing two weeks out has been upgraded to 77/61 lame ass shit. Fuck this fucking stupid fuck climate.
