The past two days were quite warm, highs of 92 F and 95 F respectively, today looks to follow suit with a predicted high of 92 F but with lower dews than we've been seeing recently. Tonight looks like a relatively "cool" night with low of 62 F predicted, but next week after Monday is looking quite hot again with 93-95 F highs and lows only cooling to 73-74 F. Yesterday, I drove down to Charlottesville, VA and drove through a couple of quite intense storms, one around Culpeper, VA and one in Charlottesville, later on we had quite the electrical storm up here around 11 PM - midnight with lots of rain and wind, quite an active day weather wise yesterday. Has been great summer weather the past four days or so.

On Friday afternoon it looked like a storm was about to blow up over me but for some reason it died after a couple of lightning strikes... Areas to the west of me and east Texas have been getting a lot of good action lately.

I actually got a bit of hail in the storm that I encountered down in Charlottesville, luckily it wasn't big hail and my car was under a tree so no damage to my windshield. Yeah, it's quite disappointing when areas near you are quite active and storms die right in the ass when they get to you. That's actually been happening a lot here this late spring/summer but the last few days we've gotten hit quite nicely. The storm I saw on Thursday afternoon here was more intense than 95% of the thunderstorms I encountered down in South FL, one of the best storms I've ever seen.

One day cold front came through, high was just 74 (23 C) today. Warming up again this week with upper 80s by Wednesday.
Month will be be up slightly below average, first time since 2015.
More interestingly, 4 of 6 months this year have been below average and nothing anomalous at all, most months within 1 f of average. Definitely a step back from the very warm past 3.5 years.

July is off to a cool start, with a 58 F (14.4 C) morning though it'll warm up fast to an 85 F (29.4 C) predicted high. Forecast looks hot this week with most days in the low-mid 90s (33-35 C) and quite warm nights with lows around 23 C (73-74 F). Looking pretty stormy as well. Sweet forecast.

Since our dumping of rain last week, we've had very unsettled weather. Seems like almost everyday now it gets stormy and unpredictable, while for much of the spring it was consistent dryness and sunshine. Interesting pattern change.

If I were German or Italian tourists, I would choose Ireland for the destination considering distance, price of flight ticket, time, forecast, average climate in July, language, beer & friendliness etc...

You're splitting hairs with the prices. Add 60 or 80 β¬ to the Irish prices for baggage. 30 min less or more flight time is irrelevant.
I don't see how language would be an issue.
Maybe they have already been to Ireland, or hey, how about this? Maybe they just think Finland is more interesting?

Friday's gonna be interesting. FMI has us at a 12C high, WO at 18C, Foreca at 15C.
The coldest July high recorded at Artukainen since the opening in 2003 is 15.3C. Coldest ever recorded high is in 1977 at the Airport with 10.3C, and the last below 14C is from 1995.
