It did end up dropping into the 50s this morning (58 F); coolest morning low since July 1st: w1.weather.gov/data/obhistory/KIAD.htmlQuite nice out right now, 78 F (25.6 C) with a 53 F (11.7 C) dew point as of 11 am, today's predicted high is 86 F (30 C) under mostly sunny skies. Another cool night predicted for tonight. Looks like a couple of hot days predicted for Monday and Tuesday (91 F and 93 F respectively, some websites have Tuesday as high as 95 F) before it goes back down to mid-upper 80s and lows in the mid 60s.

^ What the hell? Temperature spiked 8 F warmer than the hourly OBS? That seems unlikely. Usually only like a 1-2 F difference. So after a lame start to August, with thunderstorms predicted for all first six days and getting jack shit, we finally got some good thunderstorms yesterday (Airport recorded 0.40", but my area seemed to get a lot more, even some localized flooding). Even then, yesterday was another hotter than predicted day, predicted high was 89 F and it ended up hitting 92 F. Today has a predicted high of 90 F with a slight risk of storms. Looks like we'll get some seasonably cool nights this weekend, NWS has 60 F for us on Saturday night, so possible 50s early Sunday morning. Crossing my fingers for it. Looks like that reading was an error, lol. NWS is now showing that the max was 93F. Temps have been within the 92F-95F range over the past week. Warmest min has been 78F. NWS is showing highs of 99F next Mon & Tues. We'll see if it actually gets that high. Highs have seemed to be underachieving this summer. Haven't had a drop of rain yet this month... A frontal system could hopefully bring t-storms the middle of next week.

It's looking like summer is essentially finished in Saskatoon. Our highs in the forecasts are all in the upper teens and low 20s, and the nights have become very cold, with a low of 2.3C a couple nights ago and risk of frost for tonight. This is more like typical early September weather.
We had a similar pattern last year (with an even more abrupt drop into fall weather around the same time) but we'd had a much warmer late spring and early summer.

Been the opposite here, temps have been overachieving a lot recently (by about 3-4 F, and even 5-6 F on a couple of instances). Temp today was almost right on the mark (hit 85 F as high), we have a predicted low of 57 F tonight! Currently 80 F with a 52 F dew point (as of 8 pm). Yeah we could use some rain as well. Only 0.39" of rain so far this month. Things look dry as fuck outside.

cold night in California mountains; freezes in the high Sierra
at 700 hPa (about 10,000 feet / 3000 m), you can see a trough along the west coast. Still above freezing but frost hollows in the Sierra just below that elevation can cool to below freezing with air mass

Wow, yesterday got quite the diurnal range, morning low was 58 F (14.4 C) and afternoon high was 94 F (34.4 C), awesome day! w1.weather.gov/data/obhistory/KIAD.htmlMuch warmer and more humid this morning, temp is 75 F (23.9 C) with a 65 F (18.3 C) dew point, high temp today has now gone down all the way to 86 F (30 C) (predicted high was 95 F for today at one point). Forecast looks very summery and hot, bleh. Meh what should I expect, it's only mid-August right?

Got a nice thunderstorm overnight here, Dulles registered 0.21" (5 mm) of rain from it but the heavy part of the cell hit my area. I think we got maybe half an inch on top of rain that fell from an earlier storm.
Mild but humid this morning here, 71 F (21.7 C) with a 70 F (21.1 C) dew point, chance of showers and thunderstorms today again with a predicted high of 87 F (30.6 C). Forecast looks pretty active storm-wise, hopefully this puts a damper on the dry spell we've been under.

humid late summer. hotter and stormier further west; here in NYC hasn't gone above 80°F and clear blue skies. Northampton reached 85°F; it's further north and east. Must be a sea breeze cooling the city. Only a slight chance of storms this evening and up there
